"Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!
Come on down to Piggly Wiggly for double coupon day."

Heard that on the radio driving across Arkansas on my way to Alanta. Struck me as funny.

On that same trip went to the fanciest grocery store I've ever been to. it was called Harry's in Atlanta.
They had valet parking, a coffee bar, a huge newspaper wall with papers from all over the world. A concierge. And most impressive was only one row of each item on the shelves and though i didn't see anywone stocking the shelves were full. Oh, and it was the first place I ever saw a stand out in the isle with a rotisserie doing chickens, etc.

That sure sounds good. May have to do some of my grilled onion and serano pepper burgers.

Drove to the store this afternoon and decided it was a good thing there wasn't much traffic. Don't think I should really be driving yet.

Congratulation!!

I am late, I had planned on posting on the 28th, but I forgot, but did you guys realize that it was your 10 year anniversary on July 28th?

Rereading Livi's opening post always cracks me up.

Golly what fun. We got up at 6:15 AM! and I washed the El Camino, which was wayyyyy overdue for a bath. The humidity is 87% according to my Vantage Vue weather station. Much higher and I would have to swim around and not walk.

So I got that done, now I need to go see the body shop about an estimate for fixing the tailgate that some (insert very long string of expletives here) jerk smashed into my tailgate and as usual, just left with no note or responsibility for thier actions.

Then I have to take the bosses wife to Sam's or Costco for a fruit run. I still need to get some actual business done, and several other errands. Busy day.

Yea, it is amazing how a good job, and a nice paycheck can change one's life for the better. Glad you are back in the saddle again.

Richard, no offense intended here, but shouldn't your engine guy have taken care of the injectors with the rebuild?

Jim, get that suspension fixed so you can drop a motor out of an R34 (RB25) in there!

I have to replace the bushings on the Durango. It is almost as cheap to replace the entire set of control arms and it would take less time to do the arms instead of pressing the bushings out. With the arms you get new ball joints and the kit comes with all four tie rod ends as well.

When the El Camino A-arm bushings were shot after about 250,000 miles I decided to let a pro do that job. That giant spring just scared me to look at. I just whipped out the checkbook for the A-arm replacements, and following alignment. I should have double checked all the work, as they did not tighten up the top of the shock absorber to torque spec, and it allowed the top of the shock to move around. I had to buy new shocks to fix that screw-up.

Jim, I bet there are several "kits" to drop a LS engine right into the Z car. Easy 500 HP.

Brent, absolutely, AND shoulld not have taken 3 years to drill the oil releif holes in the piston oil scrsper right grooves either!

That is one of the reasons I am putting my nephew in charge of fixing for sale and selling. He is really good with the used vehicle market.

I am too nice a guy,

The upper arms are easy, couple hours each if you have air tools. The bottom you need a spring compressor for and I have access to one. It needs an alignment and I want to replace those beforehand.

For Jim, with the RB he can keep it in the family and doesn't have to be stuck with such little amounts of HP.

Jim, when you make the swap, let me know which brand of tires you use so I can buy some stock in the company!

Richard, good luck on the 928. What did you decide on the pepper wagon?

So, we are at the Herbert Hoover thing in Iowa on Saturday and Jacob goes up to get sworn in as a Jr Ranger at this place (he has been sworn in at around 20 so far) and he chooses to strike up a conversation with the Ranger about his taser instead. Can't take that kid anywhere!

Have started taking the pepper wagon to the dealer. They have been giving it lots of praise for what good shape it is in and have not been too expensive fixin it yet.

Herbert Hoover? From when was 7 until 20 yeara old I had a Great Horned Owl I raised from pin feathers and about the size of your fist. Named it Herbert Hooter.
What can I say, I was 7 Grew to about 2 ft tall.

For the last 20 years, basically since i moved into this house, there has been at least one Great Horned Owl roosting in the cottonwood tree in my back yard.
In the fall you csn hear them hooting from dark to 11 or 12pm.

Me too, but it was 4:15 here because of the specific time zone.

LMFAO!

Steering rack, including tie rods are out. Maybe in the next day or two, I’ll pull out the ball joints and control arm bushings. Parts on order. Engine swap will be in my daydreams...for a while.

Wait, there is a 4:15 am? I thought when I went to bed at 10:30 and fell asleep time jumped foreword to 6:00 am at the earliest. 4:15 is cruel and unusual punishment.

Jim, you aren't doing an LS swap on the Z?

There's a nut putting a toyota 12 cylinder in a 928.
