![]() Just poking fun, as I can see you really like your Mustang. I've never driven one so I can't give an honest opinion compared to the Camaro/Challenger.

There was a new black Camaro LS/RS sitting in the (secured) parking lot in my apartment. Still had paper tags, was less than 2 weeks old.
Went by it last week in the morning, and it was sitting on all 4 rotors. The rims might be worth something, but the lug nuts apparently aren't (they left them, how kind). Maybe this weekend I'll get some snapshots of the Hennessy modified SS that's here in town.

No one has been murdered in my complex.
The ones directly north and south...well, that's a different story.

There's a guy at work that has a debadged G8 GXP with a Holden front end. White with black aftermarket wheels and a sport exhaust, it's a damn good looking car.

i think its funny Porsche guys say the pony cars are bloated and big. Have you seen porsches current line up ? i think a lot of it has to do with safety features in new cars for all manufacturers.

In the case of the Challenger, it's because they based it on the same platform as the 300/Charger. Cheaper to build, but a coupe based on a sedan platform is bound to be large.

I think you guys need to see a new Camaro and new Challenger side by side. Looks to me like they are really similar in all dimensions.

Compared to my two cars that I am used to driving every day, it is enormous bloated and big. I tried pulling it into my garage where my Audi fits comfortably, and I could barley open the door to get out. My neighbor has a 996TT which I've driven many times, and it is enormous compared to that too. It just feels like a big car, where the 996 feels very nimble. I agree though that the safety features are a big reason these cars have grown so much. Having said that, it does handle its weight very well. I'm not disagreeing with you that newer Porsche's have become fat and bloated as well, but the Camaro is heavy and BIG. And there is hardly any room inside that thing. With the front seats adjusted so that I fit comfortably (and I'm only 5'8") there was about 2" of leg room in the back seats. The trunk was smaller than my 911's trunk, by a lot. I'm not sure where all the bloat hides. There must be a lot of dead space in the big hips and engine compartment

I haven't had a chance to be inside a recent mustang. I got to drive an auto v-6 convertible a couple years back just after the redesign. I remember thinking that if it had a v8, a manual, and a serious suspension/brake upgrade it could be pretty mean.

See if you can finagle a ride in a Bullitt or a mildly modded GT...you might be surprised. I was.

Could somebody point out how much a reasonably loaded Camaro with the small engine would cost without state tax? I saw a Seattle and I must admit to be very seduced by its looks, also liked the Challenger (though they only seem to come in orange). Tx
