Which celebrities have successful restaurants?

My wife was just reading a Chinese chat board's discusison to me on Yao Ming's place in Houston. One person said even P.F. Chang's has better food. That got me thinking. How many of these folks open restaurants that only stay open because of their investor(s)?

In college I worked at Phil McConkey's place in NJ, which went out of business. I went to work one day and the doors were locked. Joe Theisman's palce in Alexandria, VA is never crowded, but seems to stay above water. I don't think Mick Fleetwood has his place in Alexandria anymore. I went to Alice Cooper's bar in Phoenix a while back, even just before a baseball game (it's right next to the stadium) and it was empty. Didn't Joe DiMaggio have a place in San Fran.? I though Mickey Mantle and Michael Jordan had restaurants too. I had a beer at Clint Eastwoods place in Carmel once and was the only person there, though it was midday. What's up with that? Seems like Sammy Hagar's place in Cabo is the only one that really makes a buzz.

Gloria estafans cuban place at downtown disney in orlando is always busy.....haven't eaten there....
The planet hollywood there always has a line out the door.....but these 2 places probably don't rely on repeat business since they're in a major tourist venue.....

Gorbachev's Vodka Bar in the former East Berlin is always on my radar.

Kenny Chesney has a place in OKC. I hear the food and service both suck. Never been.

C'mon. You know it's spelled Gorbatchow in German and it's the equivalent of Jaquins in the U.S. It belongs in a brown bag. The real serious vodka in Germany is Moskovskaya.

Moskovskaya is my favorite Russian vodka too...

King's player owns 'Center Court' in Sacramento. I hear the food isn't great, but there are always people there.

Sidney - I think you mean Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar and Grill" on the canal in Bricktown. I've never had bad food or service but my FIL is a vendor and we sat upstairs.

Willie McCovey has a restaurant I think near Dublin, haven't checked it out yet.

Dwight Clark had Clarks by the Bay. It was good at first. Sometimes you would see some team members in there, but it went down hill and I think he is a contractor in S.C.

Jeez, that person is a tool. Yao's is some of the best Chinese in Houston. Houston, however, is a wasteland for good Chinese food. I was at Yao's this past Sunday, and we were eating the leftovers yesterday.

I ate there just once for lunch and it was busy & food & service was as expected. He just opened a Toby Keith's in Tulsa inside the Hard Rock Cafe.

The Mick is long dead - but his place attracts lots of baseball fans. Could not tell you about the food.

Michael Jordan's steakhouse is in Grand Central Station is well regarded, but I prefer Bobby Van's a block away.

Jimmy Buffett owns (owned) at least three restaurant chains that I know of: Margaritaville, Cheeseburger in Paradise, and R. Gators. I believe R. Gators has gone under.

Michael Jordan used to have a HUGE restaurant in downtown Chicago, that has since closed.
