Once upon a time, Pelican was a limited group composed of members going by Otto and EarlySman and Clark Griswald and several Jim's, amoung others.

People once posted brief, concise posts which had depth and true feeling in each word typed. Each post was genuine, and contained response and interpretation with the previous threads.
There was once consensus and/or well-thought-out logical arguments to those contiguously posted.
