ok, this is stupid. but do you have a good luck charm?

i have one for my car: i was in my late teens. living large, and went to macdonalds with girlfriend. the ad campaign was that moon-guy.."mac"..as in "mac tonight...." my girlfriend at the time, had a pronounced chin..(like jay leno) not huge, but she was always slightly uncomfy with it. she was still HOT. well, we see "mac" and she said.."hey he has my chin!!" the manager laughed and gave me a mac toy. we drove off, and i unwrapped it. mac goes shooting off, and i brake to pick him up...a car runs past me and almost crashes into me...if i didnt brake, i would have been toast. well fender bender for sure. i pick mac up and have kept him in a car ever since. he isnt so good with speeding tixs, but i havent crashed again.

i also have a lucky pencil..never failed an exam while using it. taking the professional engineer's exam, we had to use the pencil they gave us. i still used mine and faked it with theirs, everytime a proctor walked by. aced the test. wish it was good a picking lotto numbers, but let's not get crazy.

you guys?
oh, i loaned the pencil to my wife, and she is all straight "A's"! it is an old-school, non made in china, koh-i-noor pencil..7mm.

I have a small plastic toy. It looks like the space capsule that landed on the moon. It came from a helicopter rescue game that my now 20 y/o used to play with as a little girl. When her mom and I were going thru an ugly divorce, my daughter gave it to me and said that she had filled it with love. I have kept it close ever since.

My wife gave me a silver chip for my one year and I keep it pretty close. Not so much for luck, but for a quick reminder of a place I'll never return to. Yikes.

Mine is brass. Actually I keep it in my pocket almost all the time. After 22 years or so it has a nice patina to it. Like you not for luck, but I guess to make me feel lucky I'm still here.

3 times in the last week, I've opened umbrellas inside. The first couple of times just to screw with people. Today it was to show someone my umbrella. I ain't skeered.

Just had to get off my 6666 post count and thought this would be a good spot to do that.

Thanks.

I have no Talisman, but I have quirks...one of which is that I never question whatever gets another through the night.

Dave, we're having an ATF night next Friday

I'm generally not into "luck" talismans, but I do admit to having one...

The spyder has a St. Christopher's badge on the engine inlet grill. St. Christopher is the patron saint of travelers.

I figured that between red hair, estrogen, and 1 horsepower per six pounds of car, maybe a bit of luck in my travels would be appropriate - LOL!

I usually don't do luck tokens but when I bought the VW it had a garden state pkwy token in the coin holder in front of the shifter. The p/o said that had been in there since he bought the car in NJ ten years prior. Decided not to temp fate and there it stays...

I have one of those pine tree scented car smelly things in the turbo. I have had it in every one of my sports cars going back to the early 90's. It doesn't have any smell left at all. I have not ever gotten a ticket in any of the cars it has been in, so I move it to the next one (don't plan on moving it out of the turbo).

Now, I have gotten a couple of tickets is my vairous large SUV's, I need a lucky charm for them.

funny thing i have found one of those St Christopher medallions within a week of buying the last few cars...they go right in the glove box. both cars have one...no good on speeding tickets... but no collisions yet either

i have an old pronghorn pendant that used to be my grandfathers...wear that everyday...not sure it works but i feel strange with out it on

I carry a one ounce silver bar that my best friend's father carried until he died.

My luck has been pretty rough lately but I'm starting to see a glimmer of light ahead.

Is the bar the cause? Probably not but my friend and I each carry one and it makes me feel connected to her while we are apart which is most of the time as she's in Laguna Beach and I'm in Denver.
