All right, stats are in! 180 pounds gone! 3 people fell off the wagon completely with never weighing in since start. The rest is doing quite well! We have still 6 people on track for their weight goal achieved (>50% gone). Also, the average percentage towards goal is 39% - or almost 10 POUNDS per person!

Lendaddy still leads with a total loss of 28.8 pounds. He has given up the lead to trekkor in weight loss goal percentage achieved. Trekkor took off to 84%! Trekkor, we'll keep your original goal - but you definitely should try for 175 - that's the way you WIN! ;)

Nice job everyone. I am happy to help on this challenge - great to see all the fat gone. This will definitely help the track times. Everyone with two consecutive weigh ins missed, please weigh in again next time, otherwise you are going to be out of the stats!

Next weigh in 3/1/2010. Keep it up!

So what is the difference between colors? Some are red, some are green, some are grey, some are black and some are white. Mine is white? Why?

Still sticking with the paleo thing.

No bread, rice, pasta or potatos since the beginning of January. And way less beer.. *^(

Have not lost much weight, but waist size has gone down about an inch. Workouts have been better and I swear I am less sore.. Adding lots of fish oil and cod liver oil too.

So are you starving yourself and/or cut the alcohol? Exercise?

I'm holding at 196 for the last couple days. I've been hitting the gym extra hard and doing cardio. I have upped my weights routine substantially so I'm hoping the freeze at 196 is accounting for extra muscle mass. My waist line has gone down - a very small amount but I feel much much healthier.

My aggressive program ended a few days ago.

Had a lovely gin and tonic last night and am looking forward to my first breakfast in a month!
I may do one more round this summer.

If I can stay under 190, that would be something.

I have to chime in with some support for my fellow weight loss Pelicans. I am not in the challenge, but had my own challenge late last year. I ended up losing 35 lbs in 11 weeks from October until late December and have since lost another 15 lbs. I am 5' nothing and went from 185 lbs to my current weight of 134 lbs, with a revised goal of 125 lbs. I never thought I would lose this much weight. I dropped 5-6 waist sizes and now shop for size small clothes. It is strange for me, because I have always been a very stocky build and now I am getting pretty lean. I feel good.

This was an intentional lifestyle change for me. I lost the weight simply by watching what I eat. I eat mostly at home now, so I can control my portion size and preparation. I drink small quantities of light beer now and no Starbucks Frapuccinos.

Anyway, keep up the good work guys! It is worth it! SmileWavy

I can't argue your recent results but dude...breakfast is the meal you need to indulge in. Go big.

Gin and tonic...until a few months ago I have not had one since high school. Thats 30 years ago. I recently bought a bottle of Bombay Sapphire at Costco and have been enjoying the G&T again. Good stuff...but not if you're looking to lose weight...

Edit - counted on my fingers and it's not 28 years but 30...doh!

Forgive me Pelicanites for I have sinned.. Been on a cruise ship for the last week.. Think I gained 5 lbs.. back on the wagon tomorrow..

Trekkor, as long as you're not drinking the G and T's for breakfast you're ok!!

I know I'm late to the game, but I wanted to check in here.

Last month my wife bought the Mayo Clinic Diet book. On the first of February we started to put 'most' of the things in practice. We're eating vegies, fruits, and whole grains with limited meats and fats.

I started at 210.5, and am at 197.5 this morning.

I hadn't set any goals as I had no idea what to expect. But I am very happy with my progress so far.

madmmac 02-22-2010 09:13 AM

208...down 4lbs.

12own911 02-22-2010 09:24 AM

CONGRATS to the Lendaddy...but the truth is ya needed to drop the blubber..diabetes probably already had your address...

Back in 2007 the Doc said to me...TABS ya have slipped over the line and are now Diabetic..WHOOPS the TABBY SLIPPED....So she said the only question is can ya do it yourself or your remaining days will become increasingly miserable....you need to lose weigh...your problem has bin you have bin putting in the wrong fuel into your body...60 grams of Carbs for you aday...you can eat all the meat, cheese and veggies ya like...She said the magic words ..ALLL YOU CAN EAT..justt no Carbs. SO I thought I can have two 16 oz Rib Eye Steaks if I want...So from that day until this I have remained at about 100 grams or UNDER a day...when 300 grams is considered to be normal on a 2000 cal diet..

Anyway when I walked outa that Doc's office that March day I was 348 by September I was down to 298....in May of 08 I broke a tooth and I was able to drop down to 290...into October of 09 I gained some weighed getting back up to 312...then I decided that I felt better if I just ate a little less...so since then I have dropped back to 303 yesterday...AND ALL OF THIS WAS DONE WHILE STILL GOING TO THE BUFFET AND PIGGING OUT...

A good part of my regain in weigh was switching to a Higher Carb Bread...the packages were mismarked as to total Carb content...from 12 grams to the correct 21 grams a slice...I switch to Orowheat Double Fiber which is about 10 grams a slice....but to drop weight Aunt Hatties Low Carb at 5 grams a slice..is what does it...also Wallmart Great Value Brand Corn Tortillia at 7 grams each.

The problem is that any fool can lose weigh...the question is do you have a round trip ticket or is it just one way...so the idea is to keep the weigh off...

Schumi 02-24-2010 03:24 PM

Good job len, and good stuff tabs.

My next weigh in may not be a good one, I got these cheapo walmart soy burgers that I figured I could curve appetite with at night. Thing is, they taste like damn cardboard; no flavour.

So tonight I fried up 2 wrapped in bacon. Instant win. :( :( :(

Westy 02-24-2010 04:25 PM

236. Only a pound, but I'll take it. That Mexican beer is just toooooooooooooo damn good!!

lendaddy 02-24-2010 04:29 PM

Thx guys but I've been off the wagon a little this week. Nothing terrible but I haven't been feeling well and some comfort foods were the order of the day:)

My next weigh in will probably be flat to backwards, then back to business.

peppy 02-28-2010 05:54 AM

222.5 this am.
