HUH! ..... complaint: no camera ..... at the end of the arrow is a forward facing camera, don't know if this will make it to the production version.... but there is a parts supplier showing a bezel with a camera in it as well ... also there are rumors of a touchscreen mac with full OS , Dunno just saying .... IMO, we are in an infancy of a change in computers that is the TOUCH SCREEN..... the ipad is a transitional device

There is a problem with touch screen on a full size computer: If we constantly have our fingers on it, it will be constantly covered with fingerprints. I don`t know if I am special, but I don`t like working or playing with a dirty screen. And if I keep putting my fingers on it, I keep having to clean it!

I understand that there may be some struggles between Adobe and Apple - and most certainly Adobe is partially to blame. But Jobs is basically trying to dictate what type of content people can view. Why not give iPad owners the option of installing Flash? Makes no sense. There are a lot of Flash haters out there. I attribute most of this to Flash banner ads (which I despise) and stupid sites with autoplay video (ESPN). Also, there are TONS of crappy Flash programmers out there that don't properly manage CPU or garbage collection. This results in CPU hogging - which is more apparent on the Mac b/c Apple won't allow Adobe to use hardware acceleration. Then there is the HTML5 crowd that thinks it is going to be the death of Flash. This too is completely off base. I could easily list a hundred things that HTML5 will never be able to accomplish. And even with interactive pieces that can be done in both HTML5 and Flash, the development time in Flash will likely be 1/3 of that in HTML5 (cross browser issues, cross platform issues, etc). Sorry for the rant. But I am tired of Apple's progressive, arrogant attitude. I absolutely love my iPhone and iPod Touch ... but I hate that Apple thinks that they are the all-knowing overlords who can dictate what people want. Reminds me very much of our current government imposing their will on the people.

![]() w/ all due respect to Apple, they are a decade behind on this tablet idea. And, we have yet to see any signs that they have added a single improvement to the platform. --yes, I know, APPL fans have high hopes . . . but, to date, it's looking like a 'me too' product, placed between a Kindle and a MSFT driven tablet. Obviously the device IS a computer, and will eventually have the full versatility of a real computer; But, we know how the iPhone was launched --a small feature-set, such that the user found it 'easy to use' ...with more crap lumped on after the adoption. I expect the same 'game plan' for Apples tablet device.

I wish this could be resolved, I don't like it either.I have heard flash is buggy? is HTML5 buggy? By "crap" are you referring to applications? The only company to take the touch screen seriously is apple

Textbook Firms Ink E-Deals For iPad - WSJ.com
If these digital textbooks work out, the iPad could become a legitimate device for many college students. I am ok with reading on my laptop, but if I could download all of my textbooks onto a more dedicated reader that also had the web surfing capabilities, I would do so in a heartbeat. Plus it would be economical. I'm spending close to $1000 per year on textbooks. Purchasing digital licenses would likely halve that number, so the iPad would more than pay for itself over the 4 years. Too bad I graduate in 3 months

Silverlight is GOOD for Flash. Competition is GOOD. Silverlight has a lot of catching up to do and will one day be on the same level. In all likelihood, Silverlight will only cater to .net developers. These .net developers aren't really the best designers ![]()

It blows my mind how these morons don't understand that the Internet wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for Flash. They owe a lot to Flash and should be very thankful for Adobe's role in forwarding the web experience. I look at it like this. The web is becoming the primary delivery method for advertising - continually moving away from tv and print. As companies put more and more of their advertising dollars into the web, they are going to demand more than what html can offer (with the hypthetical absence of Flash). If Apple continues to snub Flash, it will be at their own demise. Trust me. Apple will be pissing off some big names (Nike, Toyota, etc) - just visit this site and you will understand. The FWA: Favourite Website Awards - Web awards at the cutting edge Also, Apple computers will continue to offer Flash with the Safari browser. The iPad will not. So maybe .05% of the population won't be able to see Flash content ... so be it ... their loss. Certainly won't be the determining factor as to the longevity of Flash. Hell, they have been saying Flash is dead for years ... and it keeps getting better and better.
