Confirmed: Apple and Adobe Collaborating on iPhone Flash

Quote

The ongoing debate over Flash on the iPhone appears to be over after Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen announced last week at the World Economic Forum that Adobe and Apple are working together in an effort to bring Flash to the iPhone.

"It's a hard technical challenge and that's part of the reason Apple and Adobe are cooperating to try and get it done as soon as possible," Narayen said in an interview with Bloomberg.

That was from January 2009.

I looked at the date too... I saw the Jan 31... Some how I missed the 2009.

Hmm, wonder what happened.

Here, check this out. Only works on Webkit enabled browsers like Chrome and Safari. (supposedly next release of Firefox will be webkit enabled)

Done using CSS only. Very basic but still interesting.

hmmm, over a year, no wonder SJ is pissed, still sounds to me like they are the ones trying to dictate, unless it just can't be done?

It probabably can be one but - you have to cut and paste the words, CLOSE the book app, OPEN the word processor, and then paste the block of text. Not as efficient at ALT-TAB, especially when it is necessary to move multiple blocks of text time and again.

3. From the business point of view, you need to have many apps open at once - like email, a spreadsheet, putty, and other portals into different apps.

Hate to say it, but Apple really missed it on this one -- they should have listened to the complaints about the iPhone - especially the multi-app issue.

Who wants a big, glorified iTouch? Maybe fun for little Johnny, but even he will get frustrated when it isn' easy for him to plagarize his papers....

For a little more $$, you are better off getting a MacBook Pro (I have one), or a regular PC laptop.

The iPad - something that Apple things EVERYONE wants, but nobody really needs. <-- not a good way to sell product, IMHO.

How wrong I was. Very, very wrong. The iPad revolutionized the consumer electronics market.

Nailed it.

Two iPads and three iPhones later, I have seen the light - and this Apple flavored Kool Aid tastes great!

I still don't see the need for an iWatch - but I've been wrong before...

At this point, everyone is looking for the next big tech thing - I can't even guess what the next step will be, but I don't think it's a Dick Tracy gadget.

It's time for the ipad to evolve. I want to be able to run photoshop on it. Full photoshop not this stupid touch edition.

This is why the Microsoft surface is starting to look good.

I didn't know why I needed one until my company bought me one. I sold the original iPad and got a Mini. I use it all the time, games, communication - all kinds of stuff. It's more useful now that I downloaded the Mercury browser. Safari sucks. It has some features I don't like, but I use it all the time.
