Anyone else here ever watch the train wreck called "Jersey Shore"? I must be missing something or I must be too old because I want horrible things to happen to those wastes of protoplasm. And don't say "you did the same things when you were their age" because I didn't. To think that we have folks fighting and dying in foreign lands and then see these wastes of DNA on TV makes me sick. MTV has managed to lower their standards every year and just when you think they can't possibly get worse (FlavaFlav, anyone?) they get worse... Rant mode off...

Yet another reason why if it's not sports, cars, or some sort of non-fictional show (History, Discovery, etc) you won't find me watching. Yes, I count reality TV as fictional programming. Paying people and following them around with cameras is not "real life".

While the Jersey Shore cast is a bit over the top, I challenge you to visit any bar scene in any college town in America on a friday or saturday night (and probably wednesday and thursday) and not witness similar levels of drunken debauchery. Now most of the people involved are on a path to do much more with their lives than those on the Jersey Shore because we are only acting like idiots at age 21, not at age 25-28, but we still act like idiots.

You would have to sedate me and tie me to my chair to get me to watch the "reality" shows. My wife loves survivor, I think it is totally stupid. Fortunately we have more than one TV.

Any show that features people yelling and arguing with each other is crap in my opinion. I will not watch it.

I lived on the Jersey shore for 2 years. This was years ago, but the same characters where present then (albeit with mullets and camaro's). Some things haven't changed. I was happy to move back.

I don't have subscription tv anymore so I am subjected to garbage like this. the "bachelor is enough for me.

The Jersey Shore thing is a lifestyle or so I am told. A local morning show had a fella on recently that runs a webpage that pokes fun at the "Guidos". They don't realise it, though.

Used to go the the Jersey shore in the 70s and 80s for summer vacations -- could have been filmed then, too. But, as they said in Caddyshack... 'the world needs ditch diggers, too.'

I hate 'reality TV' too. I catch a bit now and then as my wife can't get enough. Sad that even discovery, TLC, etc, have gone to the dark side...

I would cancel the cable if it were up to me... but I maintain it in the interest of domestic peace.

As an Italian American I am embarressed.

This is TV? If it were not for the Discovery, History and Military channel I would not be watching TV. But, ****e sells. MTV are whores and if these bunch of dickheads sells then they'll put it out there for the mindless masses.

I was once young, during the 70's. I went to Brooklyn clubs, drank and danced, yeah, think Saturday Night Fever. Even then I was embarressed by these idiots who thought that being "Italian" was a statement of somehow being entitled to act like an ******* without consequences. I was not raised in an Italian neighborhood. I was raised in a mixed Italian, Irish and Jewish neighborhood and was raised by an immigrant bricklayer dad and a first generation mother with higher values than these geeps. who aspired to own a Cadillac.

I met my wife who lived in Bensonhurst. Whenever I would pick her up I was appalled at the "guidos" in their wife beaters who were aspiring to be "tough guys". I was embarressed then as I am now.

Jersey Shore is a waste of time and money. It is not entertainment it is panty waste....period.

Who really gives a damn about these low lives? I would love to see these A-holes just leave earth.

Uh yeah, my father was from N Jersey. Morristown, Madison, Newton areas. I grew up in E Tenn but spent a LOT of time there as a kid and young adult. One of my very good friends was from SJ Pennsauken. NJ says SJ sucks and guess what, SJ says NJ sucks. And they're both right. There are tons of those DOUCHE-LORDS that live in or visit AZ and generally speaking, all they do is gripe about how they can't get a decent bagel or pizza "out here". Nevermind they don't touch a single flake of snow, scrape a single fleck of ice off their car and enjoy days and days of sunshine, breathtaking mountains and desert landscape. "Hey Stevie, you seen Rocko? He's been lookin for ya. Says he's got a anothah new necklace and bracelet to show ya. It was 8k but payments are only 150 dollahs! "

LA folks know what I'm talking about. I've seen those same New Jersey douches there, too.

So, IMHO, they can all move back, stay there and take turns waxing each others eye brows. That's the guys I'm talking about. Can't even stomach what they call women there. Oh, and my grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins were from there. Grandfather passed when I was a baby. I'm basing this on years of being there. Not tv. And if you are from Jersey and this post does not describe you, TAKE BACK YOUR STATE. And if you think this post is completely wrong, check your calendar. I think you are late for your aesthetician.

Btw, a very good buddy of mine is from there but transplanted here. He's nothing like the above and is saddened by what goes on there.
