What was this guy trying to do? A burn out? Isn't there an emergency brake that blocks the rear wheels? Was this car too weak to break the tires loose but strong enough to blow the clutch or part of the drivetrain out the hood?

Looks like the car had a few issues before the drivetrain problem. Not that the "dude" in the video looked like he was happy with the outcome!

I think the clutch was to weak to break the tires loose. Handbrake would have helped.

Easy to see how someone could have been hurt....

The front wheels were supposed to spin in a cloud of smoke and impress the girl next door, right?

That boy was only about 90 degrees from a Darwin Award. If the piece that hit the hood had come thru the firewall, he'd be singing soprano in the church choir.

There is just something wrong with all that smoke coming from the front tires. My first car was a 71 impala, it had a 400 smallblock in it, the only thing it was good for was melting tires, I used to go through a lot of tires.

Good on him.

Nice quiet residential street, looks like early morning. This inconsiderate fker decided to wake all the neighbors up by going burnouts. Is it *that* hard to drive 5 mins away and find an empty parking lot?

I used to have neighbors like that. They can make your life hell. Imagine you live next door, and your wife was up all night with a fussy baby who *just* went down for a nap.

Front-wheel-drive burnouts look about as good as Rosie O'Donnell in a bikini. And make about as much sense.

I'm serious, I almost spit my drink all over the keyboard at :25 when the motor let go and threw the rod or whatever into the hood. I'm laughing now just thinking about it. That was way better than the video of the sharpshooter in the new Z06 smoking his clutch.
