Lots of "Carol Doda" cars were created back during the Miami Vice days...

Off topic I know, but what is it about the 911 that invites such revolting modifications? I have been wondering this for years.

Sugar scoops are US required sealed headlight beam abominations, give me H4's or preferably H1's any day!

1989 Eclipse or Talon (take your pick). Looks a whole lot better on that one than the 911.

Any sort of "bling". Especially wheels.

This was recently discussed on the 911 forum. Personally I don't hate the sugar scoops, but I think they're far less pleasing than the Euro/H4 look.

The U.S. spec cars with all of the associated Nanny-State mandated pieces always look like afterthoughts compared to their European bretheren. Big azz chunky, ugly rear bumpers, the U.S.-spec taillights, no fog lights (especially in the rear where it makes sense), the sealed beam lamps, "thermal reactors", detuned engines, etc. It's all a big pile of stupid, IMHO.

(for the record all that crap has been changed on my 911 and I only need a gauge/speedo for it to be true "Euro spec", I've got everything else, so you can tell perhaps I have a bias here).

I agree with most of what your saying but I always liked the US spec rear bumper pads on the impact cars.
I know they're heavy but somehow they look "right". It's a proportion thing.
The Euro ones look too small IMO.

Ehh I dunno. I can kinda' see what you're saying about the bumpers' proportionality but to me they just look too heavy. Everything else on the car is about lightness and a certain degree of minimalism - it just looks "wrong" to me, proportional though it may be.

Then again, I could just be overthinking these sorts of aesthetic/design aspectws - I've been known to do that from time to time.

I am surprised that no one included R Gruppe DUCT TAPE as an option in the poll.

i had no idea sugar scoops were not part of the original design..they look very natural to me. i love them.

i dont like colored gauges or twist rims

to me, the best looking porsche is a 100% stock car. about the biggest mod i can tolerate is prototipo steering wheel
