Can you affix a small basket to it? Can it carry a 400 lb person? If so, Walmart will buy thousands.

As if we're fat enough already. Geez, now we don't even need to walk in the office...

Screw that thing. I want a Honda-jet!

It is cool but you're right... I've seen similar wheels on a forklift. (Mythbusters)

The next evolution of the wheelchair? Far more mobile for those consigned to wheel chairs. Will it put the Scooter Store out of business?

I saw a guy just last night riding a Segway not holding the bars. He was just free standing and doing all kinds of twirls and circles, not to mention simply driving off. While this Honda gizmo looks cool, the Segway does what you need w/o the side movement.

The one thing I did wonder is if one can sit down on a Segway. I agree about the back thing and being to both sit and stand would be an advantage to thwart fatigue. I know that sound funny, but using your back in a different way can make it sore.

You know that.

Very neat.

For anyone who's interested, the Asimo robot can be seen in Tomorrowland at Disneyland. Pretty cool stuff it can do.

One of the coolest applications I can think of for this is something I've seen done on Segways - polo.

Of course as with most neat technologies of this type, limitations of battery technology will probably kill it for mainstream use. Well, that and cost.

Funny...I thought of the handicapped uses as well. I don't see them working well on anything but smooth surfaces though. Dirt pathways would clog up the wheel?

I'm with you Vash. It's clever but give me "shanks pony" any time.
