Wind Power Failures
Some blame the auto-breaking systems, the mast and others the gearing and bearings and even the gear oil while still others say its a grounding issue.
Here are some pics you won't see published. I don't know what that the stats of frequency but at over $2M each thats gotta get the attention of a few folks! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

If you do a search on youtube, you should be able to find a catastrophic failure that makes this look tame. The thing spins out of control and then explodes.

That's quite a carbon emission you've got there.
Awesome photos, thanks for posting them.

The gear oil specs for those boxes are crazy nuts - has to last 20 years! I costs thousands to get your stuff tested to be approved. The market isn't big yet to justify when compared to other markets. Each box takes about 40gl of oil. Getting it up there to change is a bit of an issue. If I was to design it, I would have had a line from ground leve to the top to test, drain and fill the oil.
We do sell some grease for the bearings - to date it works better than anything available.

LOL - good eye.
Well, this is just more proof of the Lucas electrical theory that the wires hold in the smoke. ![]() Some one needs to hurry up and plug those damn wire holes. ![]()

Clearly. And put a stop to any Governors who want to clear a fire break (sand berm?) around the dry grass below the grenading generators.

Hmmm. And I have two smaller windmills that we were getting ready to put up on the ranch... Better make them a bit further away from the house!

What I don't understand is if we replace our oil rigs with these wind gadgets where do we get the gear oil so we can operate the windmills?
