Foran inexpensive single malt, McClellan makes a decent one. Last time I bought a bottle it was less than $25.

Just In Time Fo X-mas...

20 American Oak Barrels were rolled across Canada in 10 cities.

The batch come from those barrels.

The same concept may have run in other country (was also done in the US).

Red Breast is a very nice Irish Single Malt. Also, Cardhu is a very nice Scotch Single Malt but is getting pricey. I prefer to stay down in the bottom for price range and try to "Discover" something new. McClelland"s Highland or Speyside is nice for the money. I will drink most Scotch, just no JW Red Label.

Bottoms Up!

Disclaimer -- I am a single-malt guy. Having said that, the LCBO was sampling the 40 Creek Copper Pot Reserve Whisky and I had a taste. Terrific. So good, in fact, that I've bought a bottle and have been enjoying it neat for the last week or so. Worth a look if you are playing in the under $30 price range.

I'll try it, maybe a replacement for the daily Famous Grouse

If someone offers you a taste of Clynelish, consider them a friend.

I haven't seen it in NA, but was at the distillery a couple of months ago.
Aged in oak for about ten years then a couple of years in sherry. slightly higher alcohol level.
Yummy!

Best

Naahhh... Famous Grouse from the gas station across the street from the Crowne Plaza in Reading tonight.

The best whisky is the nearest whisky after 20-some hours in airplanes/ports.

(Talisker is yummy)

I'm becoming a fan. Not as dry as scotch, not as sweet a bourbon, but with a nice finish.

I had read that rye was a the #1 american spirit before prohibition. Maybe for a reason.

Most Canadian whiskies are based on rye... perhaps due to the fact that American prohibition never really slowed production up here (it probably increased it!). Rittenhouse puts nearly all Canadian whiskies to shame!
