Yeah, right. It's been over 3 days and counting. I didn't want to be negative about it when I saw someone was "upgrading vBulletin," but that's something that rarely goes well, unless you simply forget about all prior posts and start over.

It was back up shortly after they made the switch. If you are using a saved url it will take you to a dead end. Enter the full address and re-save as a favorite.

... or just click here. Early 911S Registry

It has been back up for several days. However my old link I saved in my favorites did not work. Go to 911S registry, and then you can access the forums from there.

Yes, new URL.

Early 911S Registry - The Front Page

For anyone who has worked with the new vBulletin, this is impressive. They have possibly the worst UI I've ever seen for setup.

It might be hard, but it couldn't have been that hard to pick a color. It looks pale and baby blue. I didn't like it when Wayne went to dark blue a few years ago, but the ESR is foul now.

Do you think your comment here will be seen by the new webmaster. Why not comment directly to him on earlyS.

By the way I do agree it is a bit too soft.

Does this mean Chuck Miller is no longer their webmaster? If so, I hope he gets some credit for a job well done over many years...

I have no hard feelings over leaving, it's just that it was time. Never was mad at Chuck, just at a handful who posted there.

Doesn't matter. I don't go there much, so it's not my prerogative.

Chuck was never the webmaster. He is, however, about everything else. I'd say creative director fits best. And, yes, he is a good guy. One thing about Chuck Miller that I've always wondered about is that you don't see his name on the R Gruppe roster. Nor Mike Hammond. Not that either needs the R Gruppe. Otherwise, the crossover is rather prevalent.

It is a matter of perspective there PWD...The way it worked out is that I started the ball rolling on the R Gruppe all by myself with no one in my corner...it took awhile but finally the dam burst with a Black Audi. That was when people finally realized that what I had been saying about the Gruppe was right.

Oh hell, the Rotary Club in any city is a bunch of snobs. Go on a Pelican run and see who shows up. It's all part of it.

It's the outcasts that are the snobs.

Wow, I know you guys hated RGruppe, but had no idea that you guys had such animosity for Early S Registry. I have met many of them and have yet to met a "snob"

Then why do you bang on about it at seemingly EVERY possible opportunity?

How many times have you posted about the people that were mean to you? Or the fact you had to sell your car outside the US to keep it away from them.

My 2c - great resource/bunch of folk.

I was referring to the tone of multiple posts here, not yours individually. I just find it surprising that so many people seem to have ill feelings toward EarlySregistry. I find it a great resource.

Big difference between "had" to sell my car and "wanted" to...Indeed, part of the deal was that the car would never leave Turkish soil.

I'd warn you to not take everything you read there as gospel...many of those posting "facts" weren't around when others of us were buying and driving early cars...But, you can ignore that, drinking all the early 911 kool-aid you please...

There's a lot of valuable info over there, but jeez it sure wasn't organized very well. I hope the new boards are a little easier to browse.

Never ending .............

My perspective .... (I have not been around for very long.) Probably spend too much time here and there.... most people I know hang on both boards. Met nice individuals on both boards and bought tons of parts and two cars here and there. Ask questions and for help always responded to and never denied. Created and received fellowship from kindred spirits.

I post events and drives on both boards. Early S has worked very nicely to develop our long hood & hotrod community in the mid Atlantic area. Pelican does not generate the same response for this type of activity.

Pelican's OT is in a league of its own, Cars / parts for sale and Tech are high activity forums.

I am very fond of both boards.

You missed the point. If you have no hard feelings then why do you have to keep bringing it up? Get over it.

And since you obviously have no hard feelings, why do you feel the need need to bring it up?

Read back, tabs brought it up. It just continued like everything else. You know, OT often sounds like a bunch of old women. I said I didn't like the color. How much more of an old woman can I get?
