At first glance, sure seems weird.

But then again . . . seems like there's some advantages to a relationship like that!

But seriously, I wonder if that's an Internet related thing. A lot of people these days seem to be living a dangerously large part of their "real" lives on the Internet. You even see it here, esp. in PARF, some people posting from 8 am to 10 pm, dozens of post 7/365, with such passion and constancy that it starts to border on bizarre. These doll people seem to be doing basically the same thing, but with a physical prop. Through the internet, they've all seemed to have lost touch with reality.

It's all bizarre to me. Maybe it would be better if this internet thing did turn out to be a fad.
