I was Zeke914 back then. I had a 914 race car under build. I have no idea what my first post was, but it was on the 914 forum. I use to do ShopTalkForums and the one (at the time) 914 Forum that ended up with Brad Roberts.

I have no idea what that world is up to these days. During those early days I used to host 914 gatherings here in Long Beach. Donuts and coffee. How novel, eh?

But, about the 3rd one I showed up in this ratty old 911 S. Game over.

Geez, I was a FKIA even back in '02:

"I have a GA and a GC, both 2.0's. The GC case does not have an oil pressure control valve, whereas the GA does. Now some want to tell me that the lack of a control valve (not the pressure relief valve located on the bottom) is a bus motor. And others say that no valve means hydraulic lifters. I have strong reason to belive that both statements are false. First of all, the oil fill on the GC case is in the 914 position; secondly, this motor is a virgin and it has the real deal 2.0 heads complete w/ the EGR holes. So, I think Jake has it, case the same, oil system variations in later years."

Now who'd have thunk that?

BTW, the motor blew up on the 2nd lap of its first day at the track. So, yeah, I was a pretty smart cookie.

Wow, fun to check this out. My first post was when I first bought the car, a really simple problem of a dead brake light switch: brake lights issue

It's amazing how much I've learned since then. When I bought my car, I deliberately bought an early car because I wanted to learn how it worked, and wanted to start simple. I literally had no idea what a carburetor was, or even how to change a fan belt. I knew absolutely nothing about cars. I'm still no certified mechanic, but I've learned a ton along the way.

I remember my first OT post was something like, "so help me out on all the characters on OT" Great stories, mainly around fastpat, tabs, and Milt, if I remember.

Surprise, surprise, it appears I was selling a car!

67 912 for sale

I had found a complete but beyond restore 912 locally that I bought for dirt cheap, I ended up selling it to a nice gentleman from Wyoming who had several other 912s and wanted it for parts.

Trying to fix my AC... Ended up doing a compressor clutch, which has since been replaced again....

That was a few posts ago....

It'll take some digging to find my entry to OT.
Edit....

It took 3 whole months for me to venture into OT!

Wow, reading what I posted makes me realize how little I knew when I was 19...

However my first post (apparently) was an hour and 14 minutes earlier here, with what was probably stating the obvious...damn kids

I'd been doing quite a bit of searching - reading before - I had a 1990 C2 Targa and got the drift that it was the bastard child of the Porsche world (No fuchs, ugly bumpers and a Targa to boot!)

I didn't do it.

Really, fastpat, tabs and me in the same breath?

I am so apolitical that I'm just white bread.
