Check out our Aussie summer...NOT! It's snowing!!!

This is NOT funny...it's bloody cold here. Our central heating is on and I'm wearing a jumper...willl we ever get a Summer???

Snow creates a white Christmas dream in alpine regions | Herald Sun

The rain...it won't stop here...it just keeps falling out of the sky in bucket loads. We've all had enough of it; want the SUN!

I hear that England may well have the coldest December in recorded history. Damn global warming is going to kill us all.

Crazy stuff... Adelaide is cold and windy. I had to wear a beanie when i went for a walk earlier.
But it looks like it will start to warm up after Wednesday.

I'm not sure I agree this is all about global warming or climate change.
Things have changed for sure but maybe it's a natural process we haven't seen before.

We had the same thing here in So. California this last summer--cold, drizzly, and really much like fall. Summer came for about two weeks, spread through the three month period. Turned out to be the coldest average summer temps in nearly one hundred years and in some places, the coldest ever. We are now into our late fall/early winter La Nina which is supposed to be cold but dry. Guess what--we've had one of the wettest Octobers ever, and are now going through a seven day rain storm pattern producing more rain than seen in over a decade.

The unusual event for Oregon? The little town of Aumsville, a bit east of Salem, got nailed by a Tornado. Tornados are extrememly rare here..

Yeah you Aussies! Would you stop having such stink weather and get it right so some nice hot winds blow over here. What was it? 18 degrees C. in Melbourne city and it's usually 35 to 40 C.

It's been raining for a week and the high school girls are really angry because their new bikinis are not getting a try out on the beach.

The farmers are laughing and the wine makers are crying - so out of season for us.

It's cold everywhere. Better start cranking out the greenhouse gasses. Gotta stave off the next ice age.

Our seasons start on the first of the month down here - Summer supposedly starts on December 1... huh the rain last night was so heavy it woke me up a few times.

Bill - you guys are copping our crazy weather too . As for the bikinis - our Charlotte has been at me for weeks now about needing a new pair (she's 13 - she needs so many new things )...I keep pointing outside and asking why!

Seriously though; we've gone from begging for rain across half the country to begging for it to stop. The constant deluge of water is causing devastation on a huge scale. Our farmers across the country were enjoying the prospect of the best crops and harvests for 30 years; most of them are crying now. There are parts of Aus under water that have never flooded before. Crazy stuff and it's going to cost us all a bomb .

Enzo - one thing you can count on in the Southern states here is variety in weather !

Peter; eagerly watching the Adelaide forecasts hoping that you're in for good weather as we usually get it after you...Boxing Day Ashes test at the MCG - chance for the Aussies to redeem themselves as long as it doesn't get rained out .

Oh, I thought everyone used the equinox as the season change.

Wonder why you use the 1st?

I don't know why we don't use the equinox to mark the change of seasons...but it always been that way.

December 1 start of Summer; March 1 start of Autumn; June 1 start of Winter and September 1 start of Spring...often the weather doesn't quite fit with the seasons either

Geezz last time I was there there was widespread flooding in Queensland, two or three shark attacks in Sydney Harbor and brushfires that killed hundreds (if not more) in Victoria.

The wife asks "so what's your fascination with this country?" I said "these people are tough. Here crocs are eating kids in the streets. At home we'd whine about a little snow. You'd never see an Australian doing that....."

Summer in Seattle did not happen this year. Seriously.

Last year (2009), we had triple-digit temperatures.

"Global Warming" a tragically poor name, fully overestimating our intelligence.

No snow here in New Jersey. That is weird too, but I am not complaining. It is cold though.
