My 5 year old girl is staying up with us till the big ball drops, dancing in front the big screen TV with her mother. Life is good. I would not have it any other way. I feel no need to be outside with the drunkos.

I'll be here for a little while, then in bed reading.

If the amount of fireworks going off right now is any indicator, I'll know when it hits midnight when the sky lights up and it sounds like thunder.

Everybody here is asleep after the party. I don't know why I'm still awake.
The party was nuts. I was the only American in the room, with the exception of the three children (in their mid-twenties) of immigrants who were raised here. I don't think more than two people were from the same country. The kids were a delight. Bright, witty, - a joy to be around. The four of us had a great time making fun of the foreigners.
I'm sitting alone just having my first glass of wine now. It's nice. Quiet, peaceful ...
Happy New Year

I'm here too. Got home early, caught a little nap, woke up around 9:00 or so, spent some quality time with the wife and now am up getting some work done on a side project. Yes really. No parties, no crowds, no idiots to have to deal with, I didn't even watch the TV coverage because I really don't care. Ahh, bliss. Low-key is the way to be.

I didn't even toast or have a drink (having some coffee right now).

It's just another day. I don't see why people get worked up about New Year's. Like Bono said, "nothing changes on New Year's Day..." 2011 is gonna' be just like 2010, ya just got to remember to write "2011" on your memos. SSDY.

Sounds like you're really enjoying the New England way of life.
