What makes RAP concerts/events so violent? Because a substantial percentage of the persons whom attend RAP events are parolees/career criminals with violent criminal histories. Further, these people attend these events for the purpose of furthering/protecting an existing criminal enterprise (drug trade). Law Enforcement costs are astronomical at RAP Events as compared to EVERY OTHER event. Do you have any idea how common it is to have "shots fired" at RAP Events??? (the promoters always deny culpability because the shooting "occurred outside in the parking lot." :D )

Where do gang bangers get their guns? Residential burglaries. No other source even comes close.

I know hundreds of gangsters and have met thousands of them. However, to say that a person must "know" gangmembers or have "been in a gang" in order to give "insight" is asinine.

College Professors seldom have real world experience yet we look to them to educate students in all areas of business, design, law etc. Why should any Pelican need firsthand knowledge of gangmembers and ganglife in order to provide insight???

Silverwhaletale, first of all purported rap concert violence depends on the "artist" or group performing. I personally like rap acts like Common,M.F. Doom, Talib Kweli, The Roots... rap acts that entertain and educate at the same time.(no violence). Secondly, I said first hand knowledge gives better or more credible insight... you can talk all you want... but have you done it ? Finally, If you think that stereotyping and prejudice serves you well then by all means continue life as you have.
