Jeezus - what a way to start a day. What on earth could he have been thinking?

Gotta wonder about his family. Someone out there lost a husband, brother, son, uncle... whatever. How sad. Our toys can bite back in the blink of an eye, especially when we behave foolishly with them.

Sorry about that. I was a paramedic for almost 9 years and was 1st responder at many accidents, it was never pretty or easy to forget...

A similar experience on the NJ parkway finally convinced me to never ride a bike again....weaving through traffic at 4pm on ANY road in NJ is a really bad idea.

MMarsh from the Board posted this a while back. He is an LA County Deputy Sheriff who rides a bike. The accident was a few blocks from my house. This was a kid on a Ninja bike going in excess of 100 mph. The girl in the car wasn't seriously hurt. It sucks, the bike looses every single time.

My wife is good at that sort of stuff, does just the right thing, right now, while the other Hell's Angels are puking from the sight of it. I asked her about it one time when she was telling me about some kid burned up they brought in from a house fire.

"I am good at it and someone has to do it."

Only time I can remember her getting rattled was when they brought in a woman who was the spitting image of her grandmother bleeding out of her ears and nose that some meth head killed with his van. Granny #2 in two pieces in another ambulance, transected at the waist.

I don't ever want to see something like that.

on a fishing trip..we were rolling up on an accident. some lady got tossed in a roll over. we scrambled to find her. my bro and i found her first. she was dead. he gently poked her beaten face..and it was spongy!! her face was broken. it was ugly. she got thrown very far. i almost vomited.

in my neighborhood back in texas. i lived near the EP airport. one intersection saw alot of bigrig traffic. (airways, for you locals). the trucks would destroy that intersection, and it would undulate regularly. some idiot in a sportbike came around the corner FLYING! he hit the imperfect pavement and lost it. he slid into a parking lot..full leathers (for safety) and hit a Wienersnitzel that was getting some remodeling done. he would have survived, except a piece of rebar stabbed through his head. i bet he rolled/slid 200 yards. it was amazing.
