I have got to weigh in here since I have been around since Wayne was an aerospace engineer and his only product was a 911 oil change kit.

This board and the previous one were established to help people like myself keep my 911 running smooth by sharing information and experience. In this dot com age Wayne has made a pretty impressive business selling parts in association with and support of this board.

Not being able to told that someone is possibly ripping me off restricts this flow of information. The reasons given are pretty lame.

wait, so Wayne was a rocket scientist before the German parts entrepeneur thing? That is almost as cool as Hugh's safety consultant on "Jackass" thing

the emails coming into me were from my customers who buy alot of stuff from pelican.......they were questioning the whole thing so i stood up and used my voice........
not everyone is always going to agree......but when masses of people make contact with concern and don't want to "out" themselves on the bbs then it's obviously not a biased opinion, many people felt the same way as those who posted in this thread, and all with the same questions......

i have more to add but have to get back to work.......then i'm off to daytona for the weekend........

imo most every post in this thread had a legitimate concern, as previously stated.......
i think it's done with, i know some people have already made decisions based on this thread, they have every right to whatever they chose, just as you have a right not to agree with their decisions or comments......

Brian, a lot of truth there. Frankly there were a lot of recent responses that were like Bill Clintons "I did not have sex with that woman" comment when we all know what really happened. Lots of lemmings milling around on the thread it seems who could not see the truth if it bit them...

My private emails sound a lot like yours. Sad that it got to this point.

I personally wish this thread would just wither away. I have personally been in touch with Wayne, before his posts, and am now aware of the degree in which this whole long ordeal has affected him and his business. It's all history now and JD is gonna be in the Gray Bar where he belongs. This thread started as just a notification of the results of efforts by many and perhaps a celebration. It deteriorated somewhat later. Let's just put it to bed.

I have, however, gotten an OK from Wayne to start another thread, which I may do. It will be a story of a brave lady who was a victim (in the Bay Area) who testified at the trial. There's a real story about her. She needs help, so I may start this thread soon.

Mark,

Very glad that you posted about the woman up in N. California. She needs our help and I would donate towards getting her "Jimmy Deering" 911 back on the road. Please let us know when the new thread is up and going.

Joe

Joe,
I will. I promised Dave Yokley I'd give him a few days. I'll start a thread when he gets back to me. The help thing was his idea and he's tossing in $500 of his own money. As you know, he is the CHP Officer who was the major driving force in getting this whole thing to trial. What a class guy !

Mark,

Put me down for $100 on this.

For those of you who do not know the story, she has had two strokes over what happened with Jimmy and now her 911 is in pieces. We think we have it hard? View it from her position.

Wish I was closer, would love to go help put her car back together. She sure deserves the help.

Joe A

Joe,
Once I start this new thread...hopefully soon, we can get this going. I'm actually hoping that some skilled DIY types in No. Cal will do the work and perhaps Parts Heaven will help out. Discussion now is premature. I'm sure Dave Yokley will be in touch with me soon on this.

Nope. You get to play for free. You did not buy parts to support the board, you bought parts because you needed the parts, and the price and ease of ordering them.

This is 100% Waynes toy box. You don't get any vote except to leave.

We get a good value here for the ($0) money. Sure, I missed a chance to find out in advance about Jimmy Deering, but was able to help warn others about a few characters with names that didn't get censored (most, of course, had staunch "defenders" on the board).

Wayne should not be confused with Bruce Wayne, caped crusader. He's providing a valuable service that cannot be perfect in every way. And in any case, this forum comes closer to ideal than any other I participate in.

Oh really? I can tell you for a fact this is not the first time a dishonest company or individual has received the, I don't want to say protection, but for a better choice, right now I will, against people stating facts of dishonest business practices. It only makes you wonder if the company is on the up and up. I am not stating that Pelican isn't, I am just pointing out that it can appear that way.

Great word, Tech: "Ideal".

In the case of PP? Yes.

Really.... So he would not care if I go somewhere else to buy parts and just look at random pictures in off topic? that is not a vote? They are not the only game in town.

Didn't mean to single you out Rick. There are literally hundreds of long time posters (yourself included) to which I would give the benefit of a doubt, no matter how it "appeared", figuring I didn't know the whole story. To be clear, I've barely read the Jimmy Deering threads over the years, since it was a "local CA issue" from my perspective and I just wasn't interested. Yet, I SURE knew he was bad news after a while...mission accomplished and well done! Didn't read most of this one either...I figured that old dead horse had been beaten so much it wasn't fit for dog food anymore . I did pick up on this thread after Wayne posted, so I went back and read a page or two before I responded.

ps: you guys put a sticky on the "new thread" for the lady who is in need
