I know a bunch of guys from Texas and Louisiana that would LOVE to be let loose on that herd. There's at least one that shoots hogs in his yard. Yeah, he lives in the boonies.

Maybe we should let loose with some predators. Oh, that's right there are none.

I guess it depends on location, but I side with Sid, they taste like arse. Those idiots probably multiplied the heard 5x's just threatening them with gun fire. Not smart, they seem to breed more with pressure.

They allow ranchers and farmers to hunt them out of helicopters here. They actually sell the hunts too. Pigs wreck havoc, a heard that size might wipe out a section or eight of fence, root the crop... There's nothing left...

Except Texan's and Louisiananiteses (or something like that). I'm pretty sure a coonass from the swamps knows how to make that taste good.

I had a buddy who said that his family will trap them in the wild, castrate them, feed them corn for a month, and then kill/eat them. His family is from Arkansas.

BS on wild hogs not being tasty. You guys are clueless. I have personally eaten from a couple dozen hogs, many of them I consumed in their entirety and they were all very tasty. Maybe not all of them tender, but on a wild animal you can't always ask for their birth date before you take them. Out comes the grinder, crock pot and pressure cooker. Good to go! I would eat a burly old hog any day over the store bought antibiotic laden factory meat. Whenever the hunters at the meat pole get picky what cuts to take home, I open up my cooler and take whatever they don't want.
