Speech recognition in Windows 7?
Have you ever used speech recognition in windows 7? I am writing this post using that feature. It is quite easy. Of course, your family thinks you're crazy, but that is nothing new. If you have a Windows 7 tablet computer, speech recognition would be a good input method in addition to inking and the on screen keyboard. Red beard, have you tried it?

I used to use it- it was setup to open things like email & google- I could walk into my room and say things like 'Open Email' or 'Open Google Chrome' and it would just do it. Rather reliable. But not any quicker than using a mouse and keyboard.
There are certain situation where it could be useful- say, a kitchen computer, where you may beed to search for things on google but not use a mouse because your hands are messy.. etc. Unfortunately, as far as speech recognition for typing out text into a document or email- it was hit and miss with me. My accent isn't too well received possibly, and I think you have to 'train' it.. which I didn't do.

Yep, and it works well. But you're right, can you imagine an entire office talking to their computers?
