Driving when you are extremely fatigued is akin to driving when you are drunk. You are a seriously impaired driver. Not sure how effective it will be to legislate or enforce, but it's definately a serious problem. Single car accidents, dry pavement, straight road? More often than not, fatigue is the issue.

I travel alot by car and keep a blanket with me. I often taken a 20 minute or so nap somewhere along the way, including when I'm driving the 911 (recline the seat on that car).

It takes me a little longer to get where I'm going, but I always get there.

its the legislation and enforcement that has me shaking my head. they can't/don't enforce the cell phone/texting laws.

Tired can be worse than drunk

Simply astounding how refreshing a half hour nap can be, highly recommend them.

So, instead of "blow into this tube" it will be "what is the multiplicative inverse of the negative reciprocal"... "well"... "please step out of the car."

Not in favor of driving while fatigued, but I'm also not a fan of adding yet another law that's unenforceable to any repeatable, objective standard.

Yea, there is no way to prove a driver is sleepy. A commercial truck driver has to keep a log book. I can't see trying to get the general public to keep a log book.

Back when I was 20 and invulnerable I was driving very tired. I scared myself a few times that night but I was lucky. Never since or again.

Don't worry, posting while fatigued is still legal.

Lot of truck drivers use a small device that fits on the ear. If your head tilts or nods, it beeps... LOUD.

I am sure I am not unique in this statement but back in the good ol' days 1100 to 1200 mile days were normal. Thank the lucky stars for almost no drivers on the road other than yourself but I had many of moments wondering how I got were I was.

Isn't life kinda like a blur??? I mean its only how many minutes we are on this earth???

I always thought it to be exciting to come too on a drive, good thing?? It was yrs later that I finally discovered what I could do to stay awake driving thru the night. Its not coffee or epinefpherin (spelling) its good ol beer. No, not slugging it down just sipping it. Coffee put me to sleep but beer keeps me wide eyed and bushy tailed.

"The penalty for driving while fatigued would be a class C misdemeanor, and fiscal analysts predict the bill could earn the state $13,500 in fines. "
