the trick is ..he goes when you say okay.. they don't mess up the pool anyway.. and unlike some off your young visitors.. he's not going to pee in it.. mine go several times a day.. towells that's what you will need.. he's a Lab..= they love water.. enjoy him... don't expect something from him he cannot control.. like our chest thread.. we tell you.. Not all of them turn out to be water addicted. My BIL's chocolate Lab was fairly indifferent to the pool. He'd swim but pretty much only when Dakota was over and then for only 5-10 minutes and he was done. We used to let Dakota swim as much as she wanted because it's great exercise for them and totally knocks them out for the night. And I'd avoid the pond. Your pool is much cleaner. Remember whatever gets on the dog is coming in the house.

The neighbor had a yellow lab that wanted nothing to do with the pool or pond. Question: just how bad is a dog in the pool? I mean as far as the hair goes? I have visions of having to back wash every other week! If it is no big deal I might let him when we allow it. BTW - its a salt water - chlorinator pool, 26,000 gal, 8.5 feet deep with two sets of shallow steps.

them enjoying the pool.. really nuthin..no big deal.. your people are leaving more behind.. get his coat healthy,brush him a bit and enjoy.. Rika |

Brushing them is the easiest way to keep them clean. Their topcoat is what will collect most of the dirt. That or just rinse them off with plain water. Soaps and shampoos will strip their skin/coat of natural oils that are essential to them. Get a Furminater, they are cheap and work better than anything else I've tried.. Salt water is better than chlorine any day.
