plastic models, do you still build them?

Seems like the diecast models have taken over but I used to really enjoy model car building, Dad would always get me ship models for X-mas and its some of my fond memeries of dad and me building these ships. Seems like alost art these days but does anybody still build models, show your pictures if you have anything special, or your latest build

I spent hours building 1/25" cars and trucks. Then I got my 914 so my scale is 1/1 now.

I've got a big box in the garage of old 1:25 models & parts from years ago. Haven't touched them in quite a while.

I enjoy building them, but I didn't get as hardcore into it as some. I never had the patience to do all of the painting and detail work. At one time, I did lots of WWII planes, and then I think I switched mostly to cars. I might have occasionally painted the body of the car. The last one that I put together was probably 12 years ago. I found a '65 Impala model by accident and bought it. (my first car was a '65 2dr). I ended up getting sick that night because of the fumes.

The reason that I don't do it these days is because of the time and space required. I've got too many interests. It comes way down the list. Once I've got it done, what am I going to do with it?

Do I still build them? No not right now but I was 15 years ago.

I bought this about 6 years ago but haven't had the time or motivation to build it.

I bought the same kit at a yard sale a few years ago for $10 - it was opened, but not started, all the parts seem to be there. Like yours, it's been waiting to be built

Here is a page out of an AutoWorld catalog. I used to spend hours going thru one of Oscar's catalogs. Models, slots, tools, paint, etc. Always wanted to go to Scranton Pa. to walk in the store.

Used to love those catalogs! Bought alot of my slot car stuff from them.

Look at those prices! Those same reissued kits are $20 now. Thats another big beef of mine the price of plastic models are out of control now.

The 1/12 935 kit goes for over $200 now.

I've built that one along with the Jagermeister 934. They are some of the finest model kits you will ever build.

Hee's a Tamiya 1/25th scale I need to finish up.
