As one who has reached COB status, I commend you on your progress!:)

As for the other stuff, Paul lost my respect during his last trolling expedition at the end of last year. I gave Sidney the benefit of the doubt and a bye, based on his youth and relative lack of life experience. However, as he continues to take the troller's bait and does some trolling himself, I find myself ready to place him in the same category as I have placed Paul. Once again, YMMV.

I find myself in agreement with Andrew15 and heel n toe.

Again, my apologies guys... Got some crap going on and I lost it last night...

Back to ignoring paul.....

Sidney,
When you feel like this again, remember:

Keep your hands where I can see them, sir, and slowly back away from the computer!

Island,

For me this is the OT section of PelicanParts.com, a BMW and Porsche site.
I come here when not visiting the Porsche tech section, or Parts for sale section, I come here because I am a Porsche enthousiast and owner. If I was a Mustang owner I would not be on a Porsche forum.
I'm not saying that Paul is not welcome here, because he is. He's a former owner so he still has friends here, I presume. No problem for me.
But to come here and troll?? (Be honest, that is what he is doing) That is bad form.
Too bad Sid takes the bait so easily.

If I am trolling? Then just perhaps anybody who posts here on off topic about any car other than Porsche or BMW is trolling as well?

Somebody had better offer our young man a job paying mid 6 figures while he still knows everything.

The Boss 302 Mustang is one hell of a bang for the buck car...period! As far as ugly goes, I think so too. Almost as ugly as the tarted up GT3RS cars. Old curmudgeon that I am, I cannot understand the fad of puttling race car graphics on a car driven on the street. In this, I don't care who the car maker is..Ford or Porsche, I feel the same. It's all too "Ricey" for my taste.

1:39 is a pretty hot lap around Laguna Seca for a street legal car, if I'm to believe the R&T guys, quite a bit faster than the BMW M3. Of course, if one wishes to look at race car specific lap times, any street car would be slow indeed.

So, I kindly invite all back to post #1...read the R&T test, watch the video. Then ask yourself how much the "porsche tax" is to be able to turn similar lap times. GT3RS at $170,000 or so?

At least on this thread, nobody tried to say the Mustang was an ill handling understeering pig. So, you're learning, guys...something Angela seems to have already known. ;)

Sorry about the "well set up 944" dig...but it was just too precious a phrase to not be repeated here. I will confess, and the good Dr. Porsche would agree, that it at least has it's water cooled engine and it's radiator on the same end of the car.

As for those who misunderstand why I chose to ship a nice '72 911S overseas...that's okay. Maybe you'll figure it out someday. I'm tired of explaining that.

Not anybody who posts about any car, Paul.
But if you only post about one car in particular, very well knowing what kind of reactions you will get, what kind of thread you are creating, THEN you are trolling... (And Paul, you did know that this thread would turn out like it did, or at least you could have/should have known.)
It's not just my opinion, there are others too.
And it is not about the Mustang. Although I'm not a fan, I can appreciate it (but not that ugly paint scheme ;)) You can troll with any type of car here, but it is still going to be trolling.
I also admit in taking the bait myself, so maybe I can learn a lesson here too.

Yep...a new rule for OT...ONLY BMW or Porsche allowed. Well, maybe another marque can be mentioned, but only in the context that they are common, ugly, or some other derogatory term.

Otherwise...you're just trolling.

masraum 03-30-2011 11:14 AM

Mustangs aren't as cool as a black audi wagon!

island911 03-30-2011 11:14 AM

fwiw, trolling is a relative term. Some can, and will, say that posting anything which incites uncomfortable reflection should be considered trolling. . . .esp when the poster knows this will be the outcome.

Well, imo, trolling is when the poster does nothing but non-stop word-play to incite nonsensical 'discussion.'

pwd hardly fits that, just because he regularly pisses off some high-energy youngster with facts.

btw, who started the whole "well set up 944"?

techweenie 03-30-2011 11:26 AM

Oh, I note that a "well set up Volvo S60" turned 1:28.517 at Laguna Seca...

Seahawk 03-30-2011 11:29 AM

Here is what I am going to do: Stop and see as many of you D-Bags as I can when I drive a well set up 356 across country...a car so slow global warming is faster: The air compressor on a Mustang has more HP.

Mr. Paul is a certain stop...more for Cindy than him because, let's be honest, we've all seen the pics:)

Enjoy the ride, folks...bitter should only be the taste of old coffee.

scottmandue 03-30-2011 11:44 AM

I didn't want to do this... but you have leave me no choice...

The funny thing in all of this for me, is that Paul tries to get a rise out of Sydney for his "entry level Porsche", when to all intents and purposes, his Mustang is an entry level muscle/sports car. This argument is illogically logical.

If this will put an end to all this, I kindly offer up my basically stock '83 944 up for a comparo against an '83 Mustang of similar stock nature. This would make for one fun track day....lol :)

carry on~

:) :) :)

If you don't like Paul's posts don't read them.

You have a convertible wagon? That kicks so much ass.

I sort of missed Paul jerkin' your chain Sid, I guess I am a bit of a dick, sorrySmileWavy

gprsh924 03-30-2011 03:09 PM

Paul, you posting about mustangs is not trolling. The fact that you ONLY post about mustangs is why it becomes trolling.

No, he's got a Miata as well as an Audi Wagon. The Miata is a 'vert.

Since we're posting pictures...

You can see my car here.

How about a well setup turbo miata?

Dantilla 03-30-2011 05:10 PM

I think Paul has earned the right to post here as much and as often as he wishes.

The guy knows Porsches.

There are a few guys here who's posts I simply skip over. It's not that hard. All the anti-Paul guys had to purposely click on this thread to see what he said. No need to do the clicky thing if you don't want to hear about Mustangs. Not too tough, huh?

I'm a car guy, not a Porsche snob.
