I'm a car guy. I've said this before too.
I like Porsche cars. I do not own one currently but still come around this board for some laughs, information etc.. The spats between memebers is not what I come to read. Let's all try to get along and agree to disagree (or ignore) please! |
Folks -
Why big fuss over pwd's posting about Mustangs? Ok - his dig about 944's in the OP was meant to rile up the masses - but geez guys -- get real here! To quote Charlie Sheen, pwd is "Winning." He posts about a Mustang, makes a comment about a 944, and BANG -- everyone is off to the races! As a 944 owner myself, I have to let you guys in on a couple of secrets: 1. Yeah, the 944 is a superb handling car. But it is no longer king of the road in that respect. 2. There are many other cars out there today that are "better" cars than the 944. This includes the Boss 302. 3. Pelican Parts and OT is NOT limited to Porsche snobs, so don't act like you're God's gift to the auto industry. 4. Still think the Mustang is a piece of crap? Ok then - take your 944 and make it a 944Spec or 944Cup car. Run a wheel to wheel race with NASA where the the 944's mix it up with the American Iron cars, which (surprise surprise) have a gaggle of Mustangs in them! Post up the lap times of all cars, then let the chips land where they may fall. @pwd: you may need to ease up on the 944 owners -- apparently some of them are not very thick skinned... -Z-man. Now if pwd had a Camaro, then that's a different story.... |

BTW no one in this thread has revealed themselves as a Porsche snob, we just get sick of the same broken record. |

Here is an example of a post which may stir up people, but is NOT a personal attack: Quote:

Any questions? -Z-man. PS: For the record, the Chevy Cobalt, even in SS form is not a car which I desire. :) |
I don't understand some of you. I like cars, always have. I'm glad people have different tastes, would be boring if we alll drove the same car. I like what ever looks good and is fun to drive, which would included Lambo's Ferrari's ,Porsche's, Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaro's ect.... I live in the real world where I drive what I can afford. I bought the 944 because I think it is one good looking car, its not fast, thats for sure, still fun to drive and gives me something to work on since my American cars don't break as often. Allot of you are such snobs you can't even root for your own country when they make a good product, but you can call the new Mustangs crap without ever driving one. If you don't want to hear about Mustangs don't read Paul's threads.

I could not have said it better myself Grog.

50k for a car with that interior, is not "reasonably priced"....
Just saying... |
The only thing you are "just saying" with that post is that you really enjoy getting in ridiculous spats on the internet

What other new car could you buy in U.S that would compare with the performance for the same money......just asking, because i ain't up to speed on U.S new car prices. |
In the 50k range? I would be looking at used 997s, or a 996tt with some mods.... 50 would pick up a lightly used M3 as well.... All better cars.

Lightly used M3 is almost an oxymoron...lol. I have a friend with an E46 M3 that is lightly used, as in weekends only, but I would'nt have it. Most of them have had the crap thrashed out of them. |
Still going with the M3...
BMW North America I would look hard a boxster S too... Guarantee it would hang with that with matching shoes... Would I look at American Iron? Probably not..... |
