It appears that the baiting/trolling phase has run its course, and that's a good thing.

Funny story/life lesson told at camp last week. Bassist in a high profile corporate gig/wedding band. Sitting around with one of the horn players and he (horn player) is grousing about low pay. Bassist decides to commiserate: "yeah, only getting $125 blows." Dead silence. Horn player, who had been with the band longer, was making $80.

Lesson: some topics are off-limits.

only off limits if you don't trumpet about them over and over...and over.

Don't hold yer breath...I'd LOVE watching a hot Mustang humiliate some Porsches & BMW's on the track.
I'll probably be posting videos of that. I've seen one of a '66 Fastback stang humiliate a pack of Caymans at Road Atlanda...but damnit, I didn't save the link & can't find it now.

Reporting and/or sharing information does not necessarily constitute trolling, so I will stand by my recent (#61) observation.

Restored cars in lesser condition fetch $100k all the time. I saw a restored, (better than new), '73 911S coupe go for $80k in 1989. Fact.

I just don't get all the Mustang baiting/trolling/whatever you want to call it here. Mustangs are cool cars but in a different category than 911s, IMHO.
Coulda knocked me over with a feather!

Milt, you'd be surprised at the antics some people pulled while trying to place my car in their hands.

So, found anything comparable yet? You won't. A car can be restored several times, it's original only once. That alone makes my old car much better than the $95K fantasy junction car you linked to. New paint can hide flaws. Original paint doesn't.

So again, find a '72S coupe that hasn't been repainted, hasn't been wrecked, for less than $100K. Matter of fact, I'm guessing you won't find one at any price.

I guess the real bottom line is that Evren & I were both happy with the deal. Knowing, absolutely knowing, that no flippers were getting this car was very much worth the money I left on the table to me.

Denis? Have you driven a new Mustang lately? The new 5.0's are really tempting me...order with the 3:73 rear end and the Brembo brakes, you'd have a car that few who post here would be able to keep up with...the Laguna Seca version goes way beyond that. But if I ever got one of those, I would need to go to a good body shop before I'd drive it...get rid of the graphics, mainly.

I just wish Ford hadn't messed up like they did with the rear end change...much prefer the look of my '09 over the '10 & up.

One of my best friends has an '08 Bullitt and I've driven it. I like new Mustangs but agree w/ you on the facelift. (I like '05-'09s). Ford has by far done the best job on retro models. By far. The T-bird was a home run, IMO, and the Ford GT is one of the biggest hole-in-one efforts ever. The Bullitt is my favorite iteration of the newer Mustang. Your car is my favorite.

I just don't understand the Porsche-hating. We're not all dicks at a PCA function or earlyS board guys that need an ass-kicking. Go back to posting and commenting on a variety of subjects. You're better than this Mustang vs. 944 feud.

Yeah, well...no real 944 "feud" on my part. I'm not about to sell a Bullitt Mustang in order to get a 944.

On the 911S, thanks for the backup...it stung when it was suggested I didn't give Evren one heck of a deal.

As far as PCA and the S registry are concerned? Only a handful really ticked me off...far from all. Hell, I was a PCA member from 1967 until 2006...didn't renew in 2007. That's a bit more than twice as long as a certain aggravating poster here has been on the planet.

Don't hate Porsches...well, maybe some of the recent ones. But I am done with them. A promise made to Cindy before the 911S left here. Which is okay, because I know I'd never buy one as good as the one that left.
