First thread - good, bad, ugly, or just plain embarrassing?

I have just been searching some old threads and I came across the first thread I posted here just over three years ago. I know, I know, that makes me a newbie as far as some of you are concerned Anyhow, in that thread I managed to ask what I thought was a logical 930/DME-related question here in OT, which Wayne kindly moved to the 911 tech forum. "Euro 930 DME into US 930?" yeah, right! Of course now I know that the box under the driver's seat of my 930 isn't a DME like it was in my old Carreras. Fortunately everyone was kind to me then and I persevered asking dumb questions, which are hopefully less dumb these days With that wonderful advantage of hindsight, how did your first thread stack up? To find your first thread, use Search to find threads started by you, then go to the last one. See, I've even learnt how to use "Search"!!!

Intersting. Just found mine 02-16-2001 03:16 PM. It was actually tire advice to someone followed up by asking for help with a brake issue. Oddly it took me 3 years to figure out what the issue was.

Here's my 1st thread from 8_2002... engine compartment "relay cover" "I am looking for the "relay cover" that installs in the left rear side of the engine compartment, covering the regulator/CD unit on a 1974 911. I had to replace the Perma-Tune unit and was told that water got into unit and the cover really needs to be installed. does anyone know where I can find one of these? Thanks!" Apparently, I didn't know how to search for parts on Pelican at that time, lucky for Wayne that I soon learned, as my old car needed a lot of parts!

My first thread was much like my first time having sex; much anticipation - not much experience - rather quick - became addicted - never looked back - tried variations on a theme - got better - found a groove - extablished a reputation - I am the LubeMaster...

In my first thread, I asked a questions about my (then) new-to-me 72 911. One of the responders was the prior owner from across the country. THAT was a very cool introduction to this BBS!

My first thread was a question about Fuchs wheels and how common they where on 944s. Exciting, I know.

The front suspension of my 2.7 was making noise. My first thread was about sorting that out. (i think....it's been so long) I did not properly introduce myself as good manners dictate. Sorry for that. I might as well do it now. Hello,my name is Geronimo '74 and I have a Porsche addiction.... Last edited by Geronimo '74; 04-15-2011 at 08:07 AM..

My first was asking about a Boxster as a track car in lieu of my "unmolested" 911. That was before I found out how molested my 911 really was.

I was building a 914 race car. I spent a lot of the first 2 years on the Pelican 914 forum, which is a great place compared to the others. I don't think my first post was embarrassing, but I've done my share.

My first post? I had owned my SC for about 2 months and was curious what the bagged and tagged relay was for that I found in the glove compartment. Ends up it was for the seat belt buzzer. What is Relay P/N 91161810200 ?

I asked about the stock wheel stud length in the Turbo forum because I wanted to get longer ones. Nobody answered.
