How many Pilots are on this board?

First to anyone who fly's us around, thank you. I have flown a lot of miles and always ended up where I was suppose to be and got there safely. I have had a few hair raising experiences on planes (being hit by lightning, losing hydraulics, etc) and always thank God there was someone smarter than me flying the plane. I'm just wondering how many Pilots we have on Pelican. If you would not mind I would be interested in seeing who is a Pilot and what you fly. Thanks Steve

Private pilot since 1994. I first bought a Grumman AA1B and built a Minimax "ultralight". I now still own the Minimax and a 1955 restored 4 seat Piper Pacer 150hp. I am 90% done (and 90% to go ) building a 200hp DR107 One Design single place aerobatic plane. I am fortunate to live in a rural area and have a 2500' x 75' sod runway and hangar at my home where I do enough annuals per year as a side business to keep my IA rating current.

Commercial/Instrument/Multi/CFI/CFII/MEI. I've worked as an instructor back in the early 2000s and subsequently as a Part 135 cargo rat. Some damn fun flying and great stories to tell. My goal 10-or-so years ago was to get into the regionals but it's gone down the toilet and it became an awful grind post-9/11 to fight for a lousy F.O. slot making less than a guy at Taco Bell only to MAYBE get into the left seat in 10-or-so years. So I packed that aspiration up and went back to doing design work which is gratifying in its own way. It certainly pays better even if I'd much more enjoy flying. Flying is like car racing - WAY better to do on someone else's dime than your own.

For awhile, a friend of mine let me borrow his Cherokee 180, and just buy my own gas. but then he sold it. It was almost free for awhile!

Former holder of a PPL, which has lapsed for 20 years due to other priorities. Flew mainly Cessna 175—but also Piper Warriors. Am thinking of getting the PPL current again one of these days.

Hopefully it is far enough out in farm country that it stays that way. I simply could not live in a city ever again. I can appreciate a beautiful fancy new house, but having the freedom to do what I want on my own own property far out weighs any other lifestyle for me. I am personally happiest when out shooting, riding, flying, fishing, swimming, building, restoring and yes.... even mowing all the grass. My biggest nightmare would be if the neighboring farmers sold off parcels and I ended up with "city folk" neighbors who don't like dirtbikes, airplanes and gunshots. If I had the cash, I would buy the whole square mile block.
