Do You Agree With the Casey Anthony Verdict?Florida mother Casey Anthony has been found not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. Do you agree with the jury's verdict?

Yes. The prosecution did not prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

No. I think Casey got away with killing her daughter.

I know damn well that she did it. After all, the same duct tape found in her garage matched that over the kids mouth (don't know if the tear marks on the tape matched up or not). I guess I just don't know what reasonable doubt is in some people's mind.

I was on a double execution home invasion case as Foreman about 15 years ago (coincidentally, a few blocks from the North Hollywood Bank of America robbery while it was going on). Heard taped conversations between the perps in the jail cell saying that they did it, fingerprints, stolen credit cards, bloody footprints that matched the perps sneakers, everything. We barely got one or two jurors to agree to the lesser penalty of LWOPOP. Juror's were saying things like "But he was Captain of the Compton Basketball team" and crap like that. In the guilty/not guilty phase I had to keep reminding them that our sole purpose at that point was to make a finding of whether they did it or not; nothing else.

I'd have held out for a hung jury on Anthony before I'd vote "not guilty", let the State try her again.

So what if it is the same duct tape as was found in the house? That only means it could have been the mother, grandmaother, grandfather of the brother/uncle that did it.

-No cause of death determined
-No DNA evidence
-no eye witnesses

Soooooooo.................not gulity. Simple.

But I believe she did it. No doubt in my mind.;)

Roosterrusek 07-05-2011 03:29 PM

HEARD that the alternate juror agreed with the verdict....one of his big issues is that they also did not prove motive.

Oh BTW, I think the skank did it, but it's the whole prove beyond a reasonable doubt you know.

Fox "News" LOL!
Maybe we should just get rid of the courts and try accused criminals in the non-mainstream media. They, after all, NEVER lie to us, get anything wrong, or fail to tell the whole story. Why trust a jury that spent weeks listening to testimony when we can base our judgment on excerpts selected by Bill O'Reilly?

 Another Obama voter...

Back on topic: It doesn't matter that she got away with murder, she'll have to move to Mars to be safe. She'll be hounded no matter where she goes and sooner/later, some whack-nut soccer mom in a mini-van will run her down. There already were people outside the courthouse holding "Baby Killer" signs.

Only on here would this get turned into a "partisan " issue.

I had to quote this because it so nicely illustrates liberal dementia with respect to any and all things Fox.

It is on Fox, so it could not possibly be true.

And they say conservatives are closed minded, LOL

The system is NOT perfect.

She got away with murder in my mind. Jose Baez only knows what Casey Anthony told him and she played him like a fiddle.

nynor 07-05-2011 06:10 PM

the point is that polls do not equate to a trial. i agree.

Fox "News" spends weeks telling you what they want you to hear, then runs a poll on how well they did at manipulating your opinion. It's frikkin' absurd and you don't see that you're being led around like sheep.
It's not like the other media outlets don't mislead us, but for Fox to be taking its own temperature so blatantly and to still be taken seriously by anyone is a sorry example of the sheep we've become.

LOL. You say I'm being led like sheep, yet you voted for Obama.

NM. it appears that wd15's point IS that it is fox news. nothing to see here.

Tobra 07-05-2011 06:28 PM

see, that is what you get when you assume a liberal has taken a reasonable position

disappointed

I have a healthy skepticism about what I hear in the media. I trust people who are first hand witnesses to all of an event more than I trust what the news media chooses to tell me about the event. You can't support your contention that she "got away with murder" because all you know is what Fox "News" told you. Changing the subject is a good plan for you under the circumstances. Otherwise you'd have to defend Fox's reportage.

Of course Fox is the point. Fox is who ran the poll to see how well they'd done in convincing viewers of their point of view. The Times did a job on Dominque Strauss-Kahn, but the didn't run a poll to see how well they'd spun the story.

I didn't watch Fox coverage, I watched HLN and TrueTV coverage (I typically only watch Fox for "Red Eye").

And, she DID get away with murder.

So you're going to support HLN's coverage? That's almost as bad as Fox. At least they haven't run a poll to see how well they've done.

nynor 07-05-2011 06:40 PM

~sigh~

i think it was court tv, or tru tv, that i saw in passing while working with patients. truth be told, it was mainly the talking heads that i saw/overheard.
