Here's my example from this morning. I get in early, and always try to get this space. I hug the line to the far right, which leaves plenty of space on my driver's side. I head into the break room for a cup of coffee and this is what I see...

Ever had your car towed?

Can drive you nuts trying to get it out (from what I hear)

This makes me smirk a little bit, even though he was at fault...... :)

Does this count? Was following him into Hershey yesterday, and he pulled into the same rest stop as us. I watched as he parked way in the back away from everybody else, but I noticed his car " bounce" back a little bit after he parked. I walked over and saw this.

Rick Lee 04-21-2012 03:07 PM

Nah, that's not even close to the line and he got what he had coming anyway for not knowing how to park.

black_falcon 04-21-2012 03:17 PM

Parked my 944 out near the back of the grocery store parking lot a few days ago, come out, and some azzhole in an old Chevy truck pulled in just inches from me. Without a doubt he did it to spite me. Of course, the side of my doors are already dinged up thanks to inconsiderate people, so I couldn't tell if there was any new damage.

People have no respect for others property and its sickening. Who can blame someone for wanting to protect their pride and joy, investment, etc. Funny how my nicer cars seem to accumulate door rings, but the others don't. Makes me wonder how many are really accidental..

Fred: Ironically he parked at an angle to help mitigate any door dings but he's at the wrong angle!

Not only is he a prick....he's a dumb one!

The car is well within the lines. Who gives a fook how he lines up with the space. Why call this person a prick?

Some of you guys are really tiresome. Can you try to get a life?

Sorry Zeke you are right - I got a little carried away with the thread concept and lost sight of my integrity. Thanks for the reality check.

I can't get out of my head the old joke about how to tell a porcupine from a Porsche. Even before Porsche ownership I had (through personal observation) thought of most Porsche owners as pricks. I still feel this to be true but should just keep negative thoughts like that to myself, of course.

Regarding the photo above - who knows why the car was parked that way (crooked). Maybe the driver is/was impaired. Maybe he is just not as structured as many of us are when we park our cars (and trucks). Or maybe he was trying to park in such a way as to prevent door dings, etc.

I do have a life - yesterday for most of the day I worked at my current landscape project installing some RR ties along the front of the property where the right-of-way meets the new lawn. Tomorrow I will complete the project with 3 CY of shell to top-dresss the right-of-way. Maybe I will post a pic if it's of any interest. At any rate - I enjoy this forum as a way to relax and exchange conversation, thoughts, and ideas. It's too easy to launch attacks as we all know and experience - too many times and way too much negativity for all we have and all we should be enjoying in our lives. So again thanks for the wake-up call. Regards and all the best, Bazza ;)

went to lunch with slodave earlier in the week. parked the fiat away from everybody else. sure enough while eating, a lexus pulled in next to me, so close that there was no way i could even open my door. i just went back into the restaurant and made an announcement that there was a black lexus parked in a ridiculous manner. "could you please move your car so that i can get in?" the owner spoke up, apologized, and moved his car.

So Rick Lee is left handed?

Just saw two more egregious d'bag parking jobs at the gym. Will post photos as soon as I'm home.

Rick Lee 04-22-2012 04:42 PM

Here's the first d'bag from today's trip to the gym.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335141512.jpg

Driver came out while I was leaving. It was a late-20's female. I would so hate to be with someone who acted like this in public, even with me not around.

And this is the one parked next to her.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335141583.jpg

What would a trip to the near empty gym be without some sweaty, disgusting man grabbing the locker right next to mine when there are literally 100 empty ones farther away from me and closer to the door? Mine is the black padlock and I was the only one in this section when I took the locker.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335141692.jpg

To top off the day, I had two near-misses on the bike in the mere 12 mile ride home, when two other d'bags thought nothing of jumping out to turn in front of me with no one anywhere behind me. I hate everyone. Time to drink.

Hugh R 04-22-2012 05:24 PM

Rick, that reminds me of the unwritten rule of a public bus, you can't sit next to someone if there is an empty row of seats still on the bus.

Racerbvd 04-22-2012 05:50 PM

Rick, you need to carry some Go-Jacks with you so you can really screw up there parking:D

Zeke 04-22-2012 06:50 PM

Rick, you're cursed, plain and simple. :)

RANDY P 04-22-2012 08:47 PM

AZ is an "in your face" about having an expensive car and parking it for attention. First week here I was blown away by the sheer #'s of expensive german sedans parking right up front in handicapped and the owner gets out to go to dinner- and apparently being handicapped in AZ means you can't read symbols on the parking lot stalls or the little signs in front.

Employees at retail stores park their cars up front instead of the customers

Same thing with driving on the highway. Bigger the truck is, the closer you tailgate.

Running red lights while on a left turn is obligatory, same with merging on the highway at 40 MPH to screw up the on ramp.

Ever wonder where the stereotypical rich chauvinist was penned up? In AZ, that's where.

Sorry, but driving here sucks.

PS this state has NO SHORTAGE of scraggly bald white kids with too many tattoos riding on bikes with ape hanger bars and cranking Shinedown.

No shortage at all. It's the kind place where a Tattoo parlor can afford to have a retail store front (like an Autozone) and a lit roadside sign that rivals a Burger King sign..

Edit: Maybe it's just Mesa. I gotta leave Mesa, pronto. Help me.

But these aren't even expensive cars! A Chevy Cobalt and a run-of-the-mill 5 series Bimmer. Both grow on trees. The primary offender in the first post in this thread was an effin Mitsubishi beater. I saw three Audi R8's in one hour this morning and one of them was also taking two spaces, but they were the farthest two spaces in the whole lot, so I thought nothing of it. Sure enough, when I came out of the store, another car had parked right next to him to teach him a lesson. I was in my 993 and parked with the common folk. The biggest d'bag parkers around here are in cars they have no business bragging about or thinking entitle them to two spots.

aren't the tattoo parlors in Seattle like that?

Hell no. The tat parlors in Seattle are always in decrepit old buildings in bad parts of town. Not in a strip mall.

It's like middle-america friendly shopping mall focus group tested and mother and Mormon approved "bad boy" but yet still socially acceptable storefront....

I've seen minivans around here driven around by 20 y/o something mommies with baby seats and a hello-kitty logo in the rear window- and the hello kitty is sporting a machine gun.

Kind of ruins it trying to be soccer mom AND a rebel at the same time.

I know Rick, I know.

that's the tragedy of it all.

I love the accessibility, I love the road system, I love the flatness, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE HOUSING VALUES I love the closeness to CA, but I'm really trying to understand some of the locals, really, really trying.

RANDY P 04-22-2012 09:11 PM

PS thankfully the annual scourge of Blue hairs is presently migrating back to Minnesota. That's worth another 15 MPH on the highway.

Nothing tests your patience more than a sea of Cadillacs, Lincoln Town cars and golf carts all over the roadway.

Sun City, AZ.

I stopped by a buddy's shop today and saw this..

After my typical jokes about "maybe some girl got pissed off that the owner for hitting on her boyfriend, ect, one of the other guys there says that the owner took two parking spaces, and there was no spaces left when a guy tried to pull in, the camera on another recorded a guy walking up to this pink one, picking up someone off the ground and walking around, kicking & scratching it. Every panel has some sort of damage, and don't let the Pinkness fool you, this thing has a big honking turbo and is very fast (if you are going to have a Pink car, it better be fast:p)..
