Disagree. I doubt owners of this late model Tesla are in a ‘bad way.’

The cost of the juice is not the issue. Irresponsibility of not accounting for vehicle range and properly accommodating for recharging is. Not to mention inconsiderate nature of damaging the home owners lawn. Especially considering the Tesla owners did NOT know the homeowners.

Dare I say Millennial?

+1
If you can afford a brand new Tesla, you can afford the recharge. I suspect that the picture is revealing the true problem with EVs - range and availability of recharges. Either that or the thief is an idiot who used to run out of gas all the time because he/she didn't look at the gauge.

Thief or moron?

Be a shame if that wheelchair were to accidentally rub up against that SUV.

I saw just that happen. A guy in a wheel chair had to bang into a BMW parked illegally like that. He had a bit more room, but it required a lot of banging and scratching to get the wheelchair on the ramp.

In such a situation, I might help the handicapped person scratch the BMW.

No damage to that car would cause the driver to change how they park.
Their wiring is just that way.

Public shaming would be nice. I’d pay a dollar to see that.

Diagonal cutters work best. Snip and you are done. Keep one in the glove box just for such occasions. All 4 wheels in less than a minute.

Good way to get a beating or worse.
How many people have you punished already?
Keeping tools handy means you do it frequently?

Not that I approve of douchebag parking, I do not at all.
But messing with other people's property is not ok, IMO.
if you play judge, jury and executioner, don't be surprised if you get the same treatment when you get caught snipping someone's valve stems...

Yeah, I'd bludgeon someones skull if I found them cutting my valve stem. I don't park in handicapped spots though

That was my point. Damaging someone's property is never cool.

I work in hospitals every week. I see all kinds of horrific parking. But after all these years, I have "lessened" my harsh judging of offenders.

Just imagine a family member in a serious medical condition...now navigate through heavy traffic, and when you finally arrive at the hospital, the lot is nearly full. There's a spot! Grab it, trot inside.
Turns out the parking job was awful, and when they come out, some DB has snipped valve stems, or keyed your siht, or left an insulting note...whatever.

There are countless examples on this thread that do not fit in that category, absolutely.

But I'd wager there are plenty that do. Enough for me to say "hmm, hope whatever caused this isn't serious".

But if its not, and they're really a DB, I think "what a sad way to live".

My daughter is in a W/C. I parked in the handicap spots when I had her for about a year and then stopped. It's not much trouble for me to push her an extra xxx ft. and I don't have to worry about parking spots or bringing the placard or someone getting bent out of shape over some dumb thing.

Agreed. Also, I kind of think the closest spots are higher risk for shenanigans, in general.

I usually park further out. Helps get my step count up for the day.

Just to clarify, I wasn't advocating damaging someone's property, but it would be funny to watch them try to explain to the police why they parked in the "no parking" or "handicap" space as they try to get the multiple flats repaired. Just saying.

Think about it....

What about the person (like my good friend with MS) that has a WC van like the kid above. Drives the van w/ a handbrake/throttle.
NEEDS room at the ramp to get in/out. His only means of transport.

No 'father' to push him....

Not sure why I was quoted. The pic is self-explanatory...especially to those living the situation.

No matter how much of a DB folks are, I don't support destruction of property or vandalism EXCEPT, in this case, it wouldn't bother me one bit.

Another great option to resolve this situation
