Garage Lighting
Just finished installing four 6 lamp T5 high bay fixtures in the garage with 6500k bulbs. Only running 4 lamps in two of the fixtures to tone it down a little. The wife thinks I'm crazy.

Agreed 100%. I just moved a couple of 8' fluorescent fixtures into mine that had been in the basement (doing nothing). Lighting is one of those things you can never have too much of in a garage, like beer, metric sockets and shelf space!

Fluorescent fixtures have plenty of advantages; low cost, low energy low heat, high foot-candles, and no shadows. All good stuff and it is what I use in my shop. But no shadows has it drawbacks. Prepping a car for paint is a PITA. Shadows are needed to show surface irregularities. Same goes for wood finishing too.

Put those other bulbs in!
![]() I have 5 pairs of 8 ft bulbs in my garage over the "work" stall. I want to put in more. I do have two of the pairs on a separate switch so I can kill them for just day to day parking. Anytime I am out there I have all of them on. I also have three ceiling fans with lights on two of them as well. Your garage looks great!
