iPhone 3GS is dead....got a Sumsung Fuse...tell me how to optimize it

My 3GS got dropped once too many times over the weekend. The screen actually lifted up a little at one end, and I popped it back into place. It seems to work, but the touch screen doesn't react to anything.

Took it into the AT&T store and ended up getting a Sumsumg Fuse since it had more for the same money as the iPhone4...wish I could have just gotten the iPhone five. Been holding off for it....but I use my phone for work and personal time so I had to get a working phone ASAP. The Fuse has a huge screen compared to the iPhone, and it's really light. I really could replace my HP Slate with this thing for must daily activities!

Questions:

First...can my iPhone be saved?

Second, anyonw have a Fuse and how are you using it? What to do to optimize it (it's an Android phone)?

No help with the Fuse, but I broke my screen (3g, not 3gs) about a month ago, bought a replacement from Amazon, and installed it myself. I'm sure you could fix the iPhone.

Shattered the screen on my 3G a couple years back, found a guy on Craigslist who repaired it for $60. Worked perfectly after that. I think those repairs are more common now and possibly cheaper.

Was the iPhone in good shape prior - you indicate multiple drops. Maybe not just a simple screen repair?

Typical mods to Android phones are rooting and for more advanced tech folks custom ROMs. Rooting the phone gives you super user privileges to do what you want...like remove ATT bloatware applications. You can then also install any app you want from the market - even if ATT does not like you doing so. Head over XDA Samsung Infuse with a cup of coffee. All your related Infuse questions will be handled there.

The screen in iphone appears to work but the capacitance touch doesn't work. It light up like normal, but it wont won't take touch input.

Thanks.for the Infuse link!

If you are handy with a small screw driver and have good eyes replacing a 3Gs screen is not to difficult. You can find the repair kit on line for cheap. The iPhone 4 is a total pain to repair, but the 3Gs is fairly easy.

Agree, 3G can be done in 5 minutes, screw driver, suction cup and you're done.
