Yo Tweez......this is probably what you are after....if so....I'm thinking just an 8' funboard...easy to handle and long enough to glide across the glass....go for it!

Slight hijack...surf was def not like that in Byron when I was there...sic pits, the locals would go for...me, not so much. Fast wave. Saw Jack Johnson in the stairwell there...his folks were staying there and we were seeing him a few days later in Sydney for my daughters 1st concert. And it's true...ANY guy can get laid after a Jack Johnson concert

I've surfed Byron a number of times. And it's never been crap waves like in the vid. Nice girl though. Usually very crowded, and VERY aggresive - lots of F' words in the line up. Generally an overhead or double overhead wave at the end of the beach.

Byron Bay is probably my most favorite place in the world. A must see for anyone doing an Aussie surf adventure.

BAZ!!! Love the videos... I love that song by Jack Johnson. And that video was awesome. I can watch videos about surfers and snowboarders all day.

Going to Colorado in nine days to shred it in the snow!!! I will try and get pics! Later, my friends!

Surf alert! the Pipe masters starts today in 12 to 15' surf. Its a little inconsistent and shifty this morning, but should clean up as the day goes on. Really favors local knowledge in these conditions. We get coverage on the cable TV, but it is streaming live on the web.

Cheers Richard

Thanks Baz for that link, and those other cool videos you have been posting. I liked that nose cam one of the cute long boarder in Oz. It would be fun to see her in some good waves, nice foot work.

Yep Nostatic your welcome, its not all bad, long lulls between set will let you get some work done. Did you see the heat where Kai Otton gave it away by styling and standing too tall and getting his head taken off. That would never happen to me. Even in my prime days I never charged waves like that!! Blows my mind to see guys take off deep then drag a hand or their butt to slow down to get deeper in the pit, WOW

Cheers Richard

It is crazy that the outer reef is peaking. Looks like maybe tomorrow it'll drop an bit and clean up. As it stands now the sets are nasty...

It is definitely time to tune in, the waves have cleaned up and some of the rides are awesome. Jon Jon just got the first 10 score. Good riding all around.

Cheers Richard
