RIP Gary Propper.

At his peak he was very influential in the east coast surfing scene, plus masterful at small wave contest surfing.

At a time of transition in the sport he personified the commercializations of the sport, leading the vanguard of professional surfing. Much to the chagrin of Soul Surfers.

It was an interesting crossroads for the sport.

Condolences to his family.

And I also heard that Sunny Garcia is on life support in Oregon(?)
