I can't sleep and it sucks..
Well, more like I can't sleep when i want to. My ass was dragging in class today, worked on homework till about 630 with one short 15min nap, and then went for an hour long bike ride. Came home, showered, at dinner and fell asleep on the couch watching Top Gear. Woke up and moved to bed and couldnt go back to sleep
![]() ![]() ![]() Pretty much every night I can be tired all day, and as soon as I lay down I can't sleep a wink. It sucks, bad.... |

Replace the bike ride hour with an hour in the sack with a co-ed...that should relax ya.

I know what you are talking about. Sometimes during the day there is nothing going on in my head, it's like "hello, anybody home." then at 3:00 in the morning my mind is working like a computer working out solutions to the world problems and so on.
Sometimes, and sometimes only... What works for me is meditation (yes that's the M word that aids good sleep) to get me into a relaxed state. Another idea is NOT to think about things. A total ban on thinking about things at 3:00am and repeating sleep, sleep, sleep... |

Read with a shirt or something thrown across the bedside lamp... the less light, the better.
When you hear the book hit the floor, it's time to turn the lamp off.

Who needs sleep?
If you're looking for something to do, I've got about 2-1/2 years of car/house/side business projects backlogged - that's why I don't generally sleep more than 2-3 hours a day. Come on over and put that insomnia to good use - I have a dryer that needs a new belt installed, an exterior door that needs sanding and painting and the calipers rebuilt on my 944 for starters... Oh and a carb idle drop done on the motorcycle too. By Friday. Thats on top of work stuff during the day (I just got a new project to get going on, so that's a good thing) and finishing up a laptop rebuild for a coworker I promised them I'd have done too. Welcome to my world. |

There are guided meditation CDs out there that can help. I find that when I've got things racing through my mind it's hard to meditate without a voice to focus on. Google "guided meditation."

Sleepy time tea and a shot of Canadian whiskey.
I actually kind of like the taste of it too!

This makes no sense. If you only sleep 2-3 hour a night, how come you are so behind on your projects?

No kidding, if I slept two hours a day, my 914 would look great and my miata would have 250 whp
Ambien is the most evil drug ever conceived by man and should be taken off the market.

A hot co-ed, beer and a few bong hits always worked for me...
