Leaving for Oshkosh tomorrow morning

Plane is loaded up and ready to head out tomorrow morning at 7:00 am. I will probably be camping in "Vintage Airplane Camping" in about row 60-80 or so along the flight line in my pale yellowish Pacer. (between the Hangar Cafe and the ultralight area) Will likely be with the plane watching the afternoon airshows Monday and Tuesday..... leaving Wednesday.

Feel free to stop by and BS if any of you Pelicans are going.

Have fun Tim! I could have gone with a group from my company, but it's a bad week at work and my 10th anniversary is next Friday. I'm jealous.

Have a safe flight Tim.
I'm not much for aeroplanes but I admire you that can fly them.

I've flown my little airplane to Minnesota a few times, and even though Oshkosh is such a short hop from Grandma's farm, I have yet to go.
What's wrong with me??

Some good friends of mine just finished building an rv10 and are heading up. It is still unpainted at this point, but if you see them, tell them hello. It's their first trip.

Joe, alas, has to work. Just landed from a flight the last 10 days and now has two days off and flying on and off much of next week, so no OSH this year for me.

Did just do a 3400 mile flight from AZ to Ohio (Middletown) and back in June in the Sedan. Thats real flying, sometimes 3-400 feet off of the deck getting out of the headwinds for hours at a time. Took 46 hours, every minute of it hand flying, no autopilot on these things like Tim and I fly for fun.

Hey Tim,

The National Aeronca Assoc has a booth again this year. If you run into them say hello... Am on the BOD with them!

Have fun up there!

Joe A

Take someone with you the first time. It can be a handful.

There can be 20-30 planes in the pattern and they could care less what your registration number is, they just call "red Piper, you are next, followed by the yellow Aeronca and the blue Cessna" and so on...

Joe

We have been watching them practice for the shows since a lot of them stop in the area (Dubuque / Platteville, WI.) Friday we saw some biplanes, A10's and a group of 4 acrobats.

My friend left this morning. He flew commercial to Detroit to pick up his PA-18. It had a broken exhaust inflight on his return trip home from Lockhaven P.A. last month following sentimental journey fly-in. He left it there to be repaired. He will fly it back to San Diego after Airventure.
Have a great time!

Aloha Tim; Thanks for taking us along with you to this very cool event. I and I'm sure others here have been stoked to experience the passion for small plane aviation that you and others here have shared with us.
Please take lots of pics to post so we can have a look at some of the interesting planes that show up there.
Standing by here to check out your highlights. :-)

Have fun
Richard
