F1 Suzuka (spoiler alert)
Vettel clinches second F1 title as Button wins the Japanese Grand Prix.
I'm didn't lable this as a "spoiler" as everyone knew it was going to happen.

I thought he clinched last race? Haven't really been watching this new spec-F1 much though.

He only had to score 1 point this race to be WDC. Was this really a spoiler moment? GMAFB

It's still a great race and you don't know who actually won.
Nevermind, he gave that up too.....

I can agree with Paul that Vettel was a given for the WC. It was only where and when like back in the Schumacher days. But, he could have had an off in the first turn and the inevitable would have been postponed. Anyway, I watch the race to see how it unfolds.
Most are boring trains with a little action here and there. If you know the outcome, it's all that more boring. So, whatever the situation, it might be better to not announce any sports outcomes in the title of a thread. Now when someone dies, that's different. But I don't think anyone comes here within a few hours of a race finish to see the results posted in a title. But, no worries Paul, it's no big deal. I'm not a bit upset about it. As long as you're not blowing away reptiles in the back yard, you're one of the coolest here with all the pics. ![]() ![]() |

I think the race just proved what I've said all along: Vettel isn't so spectacular when he has other cars around him.
I also wonder what tricks Red Bull employed that no one else figured out. Moveable ballast? Some form of traction-control? I also find it curious that Vettel was NOT penalized for his starting antics, when Hamilton was penalized a few races ago for the exact same thing.

Well, for the record, the title of this thread has been changed. That made a lot of posts into orphans. I don't approve of that kind of meddling.
For the record, the original title was "Vettel Again" (now watch my post disappear, but you will find it on Google because they don't react) |

It was odd... the fact that he moved him over, then changed position to enter the corner made the move look very obvious. But congrats to Vettel for clinching with 4 rounds remaining. Total domination and very few mistakes, with fairly clean driving all year long.

I changed the title in response to the thread being reported. It is SOP on the board not to do racing spoilers in thread titles, and if spoilers are in a thread that you label the thread that way. Vettel's lead was immaterial - some people like to read the board and also like to watch races timeshifted without having the ending given away.
It really isn't rocket surgery... |

Kudos to Jenson. I don't think that his driver's championship was a fluke - the guy really can drive and is probably the smoothest one on the grid. If he was driving Webber's car it might have been a really interesting year...
