What do you give out at Halloween?

We normally get a huge bag of assorted mini candy bars and give those out. After Halloween the kiddos put out their candy for the "Switch Witch" to come and take the candy (to work) and replace it with a toy or game or something non-eidable.

I am surprised at some of the things they get - full size candy bars, tooth paste, carrots, pens/pencils, stickers, coins... I think the ideas are nice and the kids actually do like the change away from the sweets.

Such an interesting holiday. What do you give out?

Nothing. We are grinches. No kids in my neighborhood.

The only kids we ever see are trucked in from other neighborhoods.

Now get off my lawn!

Mini or "fun size" versions of my favorite candies - M&Ms, Kit Kats, Crunches, Hershey Almonds, etc.

We give out the full size candy bars. We picked up a mixed box at BJ's this weekend. We don't have many kids in our neighborhood so I will bring the extra to work tomorrow. We figure it is good protection for mischief night if we are known as the cool neighbors.

I lived in this house during my late 20's Im now in my mid 40's and will be moving back into this same house as I build my next house. Sad thing is that I hope to be out of it prior to next years halloween

.When I was in my late 20's I lived in a blue collar neighborhood that was about 5 miles from "the HOOD" My house was 6 doors down from a park that would have a halloween shindig every year.

We would give out around 13 pounds of candy, 1/2 a box of dog biscuits and a tray of icecubes every year.

The LARGEST bowl that I gave candy out of was loaded in this fashion. Dog treats on the bottom. GOOD candy for the neighbors kids next. fun size candy bars on top of that and NASTY cheap candy on top of everything. The front door would be used to block the veiw of the bowl of ice cubes.

If a neighbor kid came up you would just palm down to the good stuff. If there was a person tricker treating with their dog while junior ran up to the door I would give them a candy + a dog treat handed to them

If a kid who would look at the load on top and say "ain't you got no snickers!" I would palm a dog biscuit reach into their bag so that they couldn't see me dropping the dog biscuit into their bab. NOW! Wait for it why a tray of ice cubes? Well it was only used a few times but if the kid was a brat with out manners and was using a paper bag for his trick or treat bag....... He would get an ice cube! The bag would burst in 1/2 a block

Halloween has turned into an excuss to tailgate in our hood. Seems like every 6th home has a grill and cooler in the driveway with people coming and going - plenty of good food and drink.

we do get kids from other towns coing in - no big deal really. Its always interesting to see the college girls in their 'outfits' stroll by.

I remember when Halloween was far more innocent! Now its down right slutty...not that I mind but just making an observation is all...

Nothing. I quit handing out 2-3 years ago. We get kids dropped off from the ghetto. I don't understand that because there are a hell of lot nicer neighborhoods than mine. Well, let's say wealthier, and close by.

Prior to quitting, I used to place an old steamer trunk at the head of the driveway with a black light in it, webs and things and a speaker. The sounds were on a CD that I ran on repeat for the duration. Little kids would not come up the driveway.

Then 3 hours later big kids would come by and kick it. F them.
