So who's stepping into Dave's shoes for the TC gig, Supe or Nostatic (Cmon Todd, you can fit another one in this weekend).

Glad to hear a problem was found. It's the ones that they can't find that seem to get ya. Thanks again Mrs. D for the update, and good on ya guys, for hammering at him to go get help. It's been said before, but there truly are some GREAT people on this board.

Don't think it didn't cross my mind. I have 5 gigs over the next 4 days (tonight at the Hard Rock in Hollywood) but was thinking, "hmm, I could fly a red eye out..." If it were any weekend other than T-day it could be viable.

I do know a couple guys in PA though. It is really odd finding subs for your own gigs - something weird about seeking to replace yourself

At least David will be around for the next gig. Gotta think long term.

Boy, just found this thread and am blown away. Been off of the internet and not been on PPOT for a few days now.

Have been emailing back and forth with David over some work he was going to do for me...

Really glad that he got to the hospital and is now in good hands. He and the family is on my prayer list and know that everything will turn out for the best!

Great news! I just spoke with David, he said he went through an uncomfortable angioplasty procedure this morning but feels much better now. He sounds great. He will be staying in the hospital, at least until Monday which is when they plan on doing the neck surgery. Meanwhile his family (of course) has rallied, all are now in town in support of both David and staying with M.J.

I am flattered by the thought but in the interest of preserving David's impressive reputation, I would have to decline. I can't carry his sandals.

Working on Freeway Jam, though. I think it would be a nice addition to my small musical repertoire.

Thinking of David. They may need to give him some drugs, just to keep him from climbing the walls. Right now, a hospital bed is surely the right place for him but normally......no. Not the place for Dave.

David sent me a text at 5:35 today with a picture of His Highness, resting comfortably... I was at the pistol range when I received it, which I though was very appropriate!

Getting that text and picture from David really made my day yesterday as I've been very concerned about David. The first posters that told him to get to the ER did a fine job. Thanks, guys!

Good to hear David is doing well. It's funny how us Pelicanheads come here for advice on the most important matters.

Both my step dad and brother had mini strokes. They made full recoveries with minor side effects.

Get well!

Update on David

Hello everyone!

This is David's daughter, Chandra.....just a quick update for those of you who have been following my dad's story.

Surgery is scheduled for Monday. They believe that the clot they found is in a position where they will be able to clamp above it and then go in below it to make the incision to clean out the arteries. They will likely keep him until Thursday or so. He will be in the ICU for two days following the surgery.

Thank you for keeping him in your thoughts - he sure loves you guys!

Thanks,
Chandra

Thx for the update, Chandra. We are very glad he chose to seek help. I think the carotid artery feeds the brain, right? Hopefully he'll be just as smart as before. Smart or smartass, depending on your perspective. It's just a good thing the blood supply to his hands was never in danger.
