The double cab I have is way way bigger and less nimble than my 2000 Tundra, it's literally HUGE by comparison.

That's what I thought too. I had my choice of two local dealerships. I chose the one in the higher end area of town and I think it paid off. Go to a dealership that has a high customer service reputation as I'm sure this is more or less up to the service manager.

Agreed, I didn't expect to get it covered.

And you guys are right , the frames were actually made by Dana, a US manuf. now defunct.

Swing and a miss..... Took my '02 Tundra in for the recall and they simply removed the bed and coated the entire frame with some kind of black rust treatment. No new frame for me, but at least it is nicely protected now.
