Beards?

Beards? Are they back?

Seems every young punk I meet these days is trying to grow one.

(Oops: Mods please move to off topic)

Especially in Austin, I'd guess!

It's a new urban hipster thing. They drink tall boys of Pabst, too. And wear flannel coupled with skinny jeans.

Denver has the scene going on.

Vail not so much (most of the beards here are on mountain men wannabes, none of whom drive Porsches).

Happy New Year!

Am I just getting older, or are "skinny jeans" kinda sissy looking?

Timely topic...thinking of shaving mine.. Some people like it, others say it mkes me look 10 years older. Younger women suggest I cut it real short to look like a 4 day "shadow.".

Next question...is the goatee passe'?

I haven't seen my chin since 1969.
So when will my narrow ties be back in fashion?

I have my first beard, started in September 2011 after shoulder surgery. I like it, wife likes it, and I'm not a young punk (75).

Very popular right now. I think it was even more so a few years back, but it still seems to be big stuff these days. I see lots and lots of this look. It's sad when it's some 18 yo kid that can barely manage.

I usually let my facial hair grow for 3-5 days then cut. Repeat every week.

Also skinny ties (black) and pasley ties are back in. Hope you old farts held onto those pasley ties.

Oh yea and I love a 6 pack of 16 oz. Pabst. Goes down smooth.

Im sporting a short beard right now, I've had some sort of beard full time since last February. I've been told I'm "cute" without a beard, so I may shave soon. Idk, I may have it decided for me in may. Not sure what the corporate policy is on that.

Beards never left as far as I know. I grew mine back when Spiro Agnew was still vice president. And it is not a gray beard, it is chrome!

Mine looks like 4-5 days growth, but I've had it since 2009. Its the best I can do. I can't get that bushy Zack Galifnous look at all.

They definitely are back. I sat at the barber the other day in the hood and there wasn't a young fella in there without full facial hair. Goatees are completely out - they are now mid 30s dudes that start looking old.

I must be a real hipster now - I have a beard and always wear my flannel in winter ...

I find it fitting that the one member of ZZ Top without a beard is named "Beard".

I just shaved my 2 month old goatee as I didn't like it, my 1st beard in 20 years. My 20 year old son has had a full beard for a couple years now. Beards are OK, tattoos not so much (as they are permanent).

I think I last saw my chin circa '83...they were nice stitches . Swan dive off of my bicycle back in college...why do they place storm grates running "parallel" to the road...I dunno

Ok, beards are back in and they are hot... On the right guy. But none of this mountain man stuff. Close to the skin. Almost that five o'clock shadow look. Yum! Makes men look rugged but not out of control. And chrome/platinum blonde beards can be hot!
