I'll go this year because medications have made me gain weight and I'm hating my clothes.

Zeke
66
Doc's office had me at 200 on Tues, the most I have ever weighed.
6'0"
I'll shoot for 15 off, 185 suits me and 180 makes me look a little thin and ragged.
no pic

The doc gave me a horse pill of an antibiotic plus a shot for my illness (?). Haven't had a good day or meal since. 194 this morning. My scale had me at 199 on Tues.

I always weigh dressed to go out the door. Compares with the doc's scale.

Hope I can make it work this time

Pcarhiway
Age:54
Current weight: 190
Height: 5' 7"
Weight loss goal: 22 lbs

Ran the Houston Tenneco Marathon at 168 lbs in 1989 and I remember feeling great back then.

Breaking it down over twelve months my goal is about 2 lbs per month, seems doable !! At 4 lbs per month could be there by June .....

Only three more days before we start. I will post everyones stats and then we will track weight every two weeks. Sound good? Let me know if you want to do something different from this. Thanks.

What color line will I be on the graph? I don't look good in yellow. Must be an ethnic thing. Black is so last-decade. Can I be slimming stripes? Or green, because I drive a Prius?

Seriously, thank you for running this. If you want any help building an Excel sheet that generates graphs, tables and other eye candy w/ minimal effort, let me know by PM.

I'd be interested in hearing how we all are going about this, too. Calorie counting? Paleo diet? Exercise? Diet pills? Veganism? No alcohol? No-carb diet? Laxatives? Purging? Liposuction? Amputation? Stalag 19?

Me. Weight watchers. I am a Lifetime member. Have been for 10 years. I put on 15 pounds this last year and need to take them off again. Watch the portion size and eat lots of fruits and veggies. Yum.

And exercise. Lots of it. I will be walking 1/2 marathon in three weeks. Then full marathon in two and one half months. I may not run it but walking is not bad either.

I'm counting calories, bicycle commuting, bicycling on weekends, and will start lifting this month. Fewer grains (bread, rice, pasta). More meat, veg, and fruit. Bringing healthy lunches to work. The holidays were not really helpful.

My plans:
- Better diet
- Less eating late at night
- At work, I will take 20 - 30 minutes a day and walk up and down the stairwell during lunch at least 3 times a week
- More walks in the neighborhood / jogging around the high school track with Mrs. Z-man
- More tennis with the guys I play tennis with

Smaller, smarter portions with less snacks. It's not the easy way, just a better way. Exercise is terrific and should be done by all, but you can take in a lot more calories than you can work off way too easily. I mean you can work your ass off to the point of soreness and fatigue and only use 75 calories.

Great guys! Lets see if we can obtain some more bodies before we start. Rumor has it that there will be winners and losers at the end of the year. All it will take is a bi-monthly check-in with your new weight and myself and a couple of others will be drafting charts of weight loss and weight gain but I hope not so much weight gain.

Just a couple more hours before the start. I will post everyone's stats. Then with the help from some friends I will post graphs with starting weight, weight loss/gained and goal weight so that we can track our progress. Good luck with your progress on the weight loss challenge.

Part of my regimen will involve these:

Plan is to take 25-30 minutes a day, 2-3 times a week walking up and down these stairs at work. (Did 25 minutes today -- and I already have a little spring in my step!)
