"Overhauling" is coming back

I ran into Chip Foose at the hardware store, introduced myself and asked when or if Overhauling was coming back on. He said he had just signed a new contract with the Discovery channel to do a new show. I asked if he couldn't include a Porsche in the cast this time. Couldn't hurt to ask.

I wouldn't mind if he came and "stole" my 924, I think it would be cool as a Foose ride (please add a real engine though)

Hopefully with some variety. I enjoy watching them restore an old American muscle car, but do they ALL have to be old American muscle cars? On the upside, they're one of the few restoration shows that manages to be original and tasteful. Foose does nice work.

I keep telling my boys, if you Overhaul my SC, turn it into an orange 934. Original H2O intercoolers preferable, just because....

I would be very upset if my El Camino got "overhauled" with the same old "update" of the 20 inch wheels over the top stereo & video system and slammed to the ground, and wild paint job. I like the show but I can't see how a restoration in one week can be a true top quality job.

I live in the area the show was done and have seen at least a few of the cars that were "Overhauled" in person at local car shows or cruise ins. Other than showing a little road ware I was surprised at the level of craftsmanship and detail that went into these cars. No bondo pop, paint shrinkage or sanding marks showing through which all would be typical of cars done in rush. One of the first cars they did belonged to a guy that works at the same place as my son and My boy says the car is still looking very good. Regardless of the kind of cars they do I still have great respect for the skill and talent that it takes to get it done.

Foose has a good eye and his cars sit right. A truly talented guy.

I think in 20 years people will look back at the current style of huge wheels and tires, slammed rides and it will be like bell bottom pants and disco style clothes.

looking forward to the new show!

on Overhaulin', weren't the owners wishes/desires (hence the "insiders") the reason why most cars were slammed with big wheels and sounds?

Foose also did a VW Bus on one of the final episodes:
