'F'n great video indeed...But a word to the wise..in the real world, some Oregon cops do drive blown Mustangs as chase cars...unmarked down to the point of not even running government vehicle plates. Pic offered as proof. See the lights on the red one?

OK - before this thread becomes a free-for-all about well-set-up 944's and Bullitt Mustangs, I'm firing a warning shot:

Anyone who even hints at a personal attack, troll post, dig, slam, swipe, or even a love tap invovling people who have a passion for or own Mustangs, Porsches, well-set-up 944's, or Ford Pintos for that matter, will automatically get a free weekend trip to ban island.

Bashing of Toyota Priuses and Chevy Aveos is, and always will be, tolerated.

Carry on,
-Z-man.

LOL...my job is done on this thread. It was a fun video, must have been a lot of work to make.

Drivers in Oreegun are all too stoned or too drunk for the police to need fast cars (I'm assuming the police cars in question are fast). I think the state gov't should invest in a fleet of Toyota Prius police cruisers, or better yet, Nissan Leafs. Police can have more time munching donuts while their environmentally friendly Leafs are charging. It's win-win for the citizens of Oreegun.

I wonder how many miles a car can go smoking the rear tires like that. It can't be long before the tires blow.

Yep!
It is illegal to display emergency lights in a non police or emergency vehicle.
As an operator of a motor vehicle, you are required to be able to know this and obey the law.

Although things might be different in other parts of the world.

you could always claim you did not realize it was a cop and were afraid of a criminal car jacking...

Ore. cops also drive some hot Camaros. They do not use Toyota Priuses or the Chevy Aveo, but state admin services does have Priuses in their fleet and has saved a bundle from the fuel savings. Some cities have them also - here, the landuse & building inspectors can use them to creep up on you silently (not that I would ever violate any city ordinance!).

In NSW, Australia we have a Special Police car to pull over Mustangs!

It's real - on loan from Porsche Cars Australia for 12 months. They love it!

I recall CHP routinely used black-and-white Mustangs. Back in 1986, a friend bought a black 5.0 convertible with a white top. When he got up behind someone of the freeway, they would either get out of the way or (more irritating) slow to 55.

On a somewhere related note of Oregon and Prius's, last week I was road raged or something very similar by a Prius! It was aggressive enough for me to call 911.

Pretty funny when you think about it.

And, since you were wondering, I really didn't do anything to instigate. I was simply driving to work in the morning!

They are seriously sand bagging if they are using a Slash for a camera car!

Mustangs may not be as fast as their competition from GM, but they sure sound better.

SF Bay Area, Santa Cruz coastal range, great moto roads, good rhythm, miles long, etc. Totally ruined by a couple of white unmarked Camaros in the early summer hours a few yrs. ago. Put the kabash on it all.

why? car chases are a thing of the past. even the ones that happen are more like car follows. we still have high speed car chases?
