It was an automatic. Does that make a difference?

I saw 140... Get caught going past 100 on any Oregon road, and it's a $2,000 minimum fine, loss of license for a minimum of 30 days, and possible confiscation of the car. So, I guess I'm not going to make such a test.

(edit) I'm wondering if he went to an aftermarket aluminum driveshaft...I've heard tales of those having balance problems, causing vibrations at higher speeds. Pretty impressive speedometer climbing up until the end....especially since the title says it's a V-6?

Bet the guy left a pile in his underwear. Pretty good acceleration. It took right off from 80.

One more reason to stick w/ 911s. Hey, any Porsche fans here? I really like Porsches.

Doesn't it depend on how high the cliff is?

Until it reaches terminal velocity. Even then a beetle can beat a 997 Turbo S cabriolet to a certain distance.

With no way to know if it's driveline will let go at 135...

I had my old 944 Turbo past 135 a few times (Professional driver, closed course, don't try this at home).

I currently have a 944S which is good for more than 135, but then there is the race car- An early 944 prepped to SCCA's ITS Class. With such limited prep allowed, and the rules requiring the windows to be open, there is no track I've been on with a long enough straight to get past 130 or so.
At least the driveline has never let go (yet).

Still tempted by the 2005-09 Mustangs. Nice cars.

My 911 will go 155mph in pretty short order. Or so I'm told.

Gimme a large enough check, and you'd be welcome to do so...I'd like a nice bit of coin to add to my Boss 302 fund.

I'm thinking that the driveshaft taking a dump at 140 was some king of fail safe built into the Mustang... probably had to do with cafe standards or sumtin...

From another site is that the car is speed limited to 112 ( car taped hda the Governor removed.) and that the drive-shaft is a thin-wall design to reduce weight to increase mpg.

So it's Bush's fault.
